Just venting for a second here, so please indulge me.

Prices at the two stations nearest Villa Hills on Buttermilk Pike in NKY on 6/23 were $3.99. At the two stations nearest Dixie High School (gotta be less than five miles away) prices were $3.67. A 32 cent difference within the same zip code, really?

Mind you the fine folks of Villa Hills only have the two aforementioned stations at their disposal as they leave and return home via I-75. There is another station on Buttermilk, but it's on the other side of the interchange.

The kicker here is one of the stations on Buttermilk has the audacity to have big banners up proclaiming, "We're not big oil. Family owned for XX years."

I'd love to see those banners replaced by something that says, "Family owned and proudly screwing our neighbors again this summer, because we can."

Mom and Pop businesses without competition will hose their customers more than any national chain will.

I was down in Cumberland this weekend, Gas around town about $3.65.

Gas at Burnside marina on the water was $5.05!!! I don't mind paying a bit of a premium on the water but that was out of line.

They kinda have a captive audience and no competition...
