Everybody talking about one call' date=' that did not even effect the game that much. Make some free throws you win period. Why at the end of the game your big is shooting 3's instead of any of the guards, especially Mavous. I have zero problem with how Nick plays he draws contact gets to the line and gets the other team in foul trouble. Smart if you ask me, I love the kids game as an outside observer.[/quote']

Moeves has 2 3s late.

Yes but he did not even get a touch the last couple possession when I thought he had the hot hand. But it's not just him I would of liked to seen any better shooter taking those shots.

I'm not here to say that it was the right or wrong call, but I think that we can all agree that it looked pretty funky. All the discussion here is living proof that it has tons perplexed and/or at odds about it.

As the season progressed, Ruthsatz didn't have as much ease at selling his flops etc... because the 9th Region refs were eventually on to him, and didn't always buy it. Since he was playing in front of 16th Region refs, I don't blame him for giving it his all. It's not against the rules to be a good actor. Opposing teams don't particularly care for it, but it's still a legit approach. It's his style, so don't be surprised to see him milk it for all its worth in the championship game, and at Rupp if the Colonels get there. There again he'll be performing in front of unsuspecting refs.

Ruthsatz is a slick smart player and he's going to use everything in his bag of tricks that he has. I'm highly impressed with his basketball IQ and him instinctively always knowing what to do all at the right time. He's a true pleasure to watch.

... And to think that he was tossing his cookies throughout his performance too. Wow!

I have zero problem with the play Ruthsatz made. It was a smart play. Its likely called a foul on the defender 90% of the time and no call 10% of the time. Hatton did the same thing in the closing minutes of the second semi. If he gets the same call Dixie ties it if he makes 3 out of 3 foul shots. But it was a no call. And Hatton had 4 fouls so you know he was thinking no chance they call it an offensive foul.

The call is what it is. It is not the reason CovCath won. It did have an effect on the game but every call has an effect on the game.

I am not clear on what you are saying.

Big guy is posting up goes up for a shot the defender goes up for the block straight up the offensive guy jumps into him with his shoulder I've seen it called plenty of times a offensive foul. How is that different from what happen today.

As I have said a few times Pangalllo was coming forward.

I heard Ruthsatz was tossing cookies into the garbage can during some breaks.

Got sick several times during halftime. "Gutsy" performance by him today. Literally. His 5 straight with Covcath up 1 and then 6 straight makes at the charity stripe carried the Colonels.

Feel really bad for these Newcath players as they are all very good kids but Covcath did exactly what they needed to get the win. Bo Schuh played one hell of a game. Like you said in an earlier post, if he plays like this consistently, easily top 5 in the region.

I'm still trying to figure out how Ruthsatz was the only Colonel to get love in the post season all region team lists.

Not sure if it has been mentioned or not (I didn't read all 5 pages), but CVH did one hell of a job face guarding Pangallo in the second half.

IN regards to a defender's "space" he owns the vertical space from the floor to the ceiling.

I agree, the call was correct. Too many people on here focusing one call. The bottom line Cch outplayed Ncc in every facet of the game. Ncc is a good team and have nothing to be ashamed of. In any event, the best team won. Should be a great game tomorrow night.

I thought a missed opportunity for NewCath was when Bo fouled out. I think there were 2-3 minutes left. CovCath played without one of their key interior defenders. They played through that adversity and the other players stepped up. To me that was a big difference in the final minutes.

It ok. Take a deep breath.

Cov Cath beats them twice, first one in a 1/2 half game and then this one. Clearly the better team. No doubt.

I could care less who won the game.

1:30 left when Bo fouled out. NCC was down 6. Moeves hit a 3 next possession.

I think some of us, at least me, are not talking about the play costing the game but how the rule is as far as verticality.

"agree with Clyde that even though the offensive player charges into the defender it gets called on the defender almost always. And that was a bad call."

To funny. It was the right call. Get over it. Read the rule book. Defensive player bit on the fake, went flying into the air, once he is in the air he is dead. Ruthsatz took advantage of Pangallo being in mid air out of control, jumped into him, hence foul was called, always was and always will be. Was the correct call. Get over it.

Read the rule book is right. If the defender doesn't go forward then there should not be a foul called on the defense.

Clyde said the defender jumped forward so then the D can be called for a foul.

But to say it is a foul just because the defense jumped is wrong.

Let's try this again, with this disclaimer: Watch the personal junk because there won't be any warnings beyond this one. No exceptions.

I am new to posting on this site, what happened to the earlier post that were made on this thread??
