1976. KY has the same number of titles. It's not as far apart as you think. All I can say is that you don't have a good understanding of basketball prior to 1990.

 

I have a great understanding of the history of hoops, honestly I don't care about it. I am not still reliving the Danny Manning team that made a great run, or even worse the peach basket years. What good does that do me? I am more concerned about Andrew Wiggins and this team, and what they are going to do in the tourney. I choose to live my life in the now, not back when shorts looked like undies and we ran the picket fence to shoot set shots.

There's a difference....UK has this hatred from a game that was 22 years ago.......us Duke fans live with UK every day, you're really comparing apples and pianos here.

The majority of UK fans hate Duke for one of two reasons: The Laettner thing, or as PP has said jealousy or saltiness that Duke is viewed in a better (or even equal) light than UK. The number of Duke haters that use Laettner (not necessarily on this board) is laughable. We have no choice but to deal with UK fans EVERY DAY, both on here and in the real world. UK fans obsession with Duke is not even remotely close to our interactions with UK fans.

 

As far as getting on here and arguing with UK fans, I do FAR less of that now than I used to. There's just no point. It's a huge circle jerk and there is no reasoning with a large portion of the UK fans on this board. When I find a discussion that I can jump in on and not be labeled as a troll and actually have a healthy discussion, I'm all for it. The only way to avoid the UK fans on this board is not to post or read. There are WAY more negative posts and thread jacks by UK fans than non-UK fans on this board. I'm not going to stop posting just to satisfy them, sorry.

I will try this again. Why does Duke always get ranked high despite their record? Forget the UK comparison. NC #14 yet with the same amount of losses as Duke. NC ranked higher than Duke in the ACC with less losses in conference than Duke including beating Duke already. Yet going into yesterdays game Duke was #4 nationally and NC #14
