Duke with 7 losses, UK with 8 losses

Featured Replies

Notre Dame and Wake are pretty bad losses. Duke should definitely be no where near 4th, but they should definitely be ranked higher than UK based on their wins. Looking at it objectively, I'd say Duke should be in the 12-15 range and quite honestly UK shouldn't be ranked.

I love this site after a Duke loss or a UK loss.

Duke deserves a ranking of about 10-13. The voters were drunk or something the day they voted after the Syracuse loss, and them being over-ranked was a result. They'll be the lowest 2 or highest 3 seed in the tournament, which is exactly where they belong.

As for UK, how they're still ranked after that embarrassing week last week is a greater mystery to me than how Duke moved up after a loss. :idunno:

It's easy to say Duke should not be near 4th THE DAY AFTER THEY LOSE AND THREE DAYS AFTER THE POLLS COME OUT! Wait until next Monday then gripe about it. Before last night's loss, I thought they were a little high but without a doubt top 8-10 nonetheless. UK isn't even a Top 25 team IMO, and they won't be come next Monday.

Last night was Duke's worst loss and it was still a road game. Look at who the teams have lost to and where they lost to them and then get back at me.

A Randle putback from a 3 game home losing steak.

Just saying.

I love the obsession with Duke. Y'all love them Blue Devils. Want to be just like them. I see y'all.

And Duke is a block/charge call from having 8 losses. It works both ways.

Yet Duke will still probably get a #1 seed even though they only have 1 less loss than UK. UK ranked 25th Duke ranked 4th. Someone please explain why Duke annually stays in the top 10 while losing as many games as teams out of the top 25?

Duke 4th in top 25, yet they are 4th in the ACC. How does that happen?

Duke is obviously a little too high, should be toward the bottom of the top 10. I can't see them being a #1 seed, probably a 2 or possibly a 3 seed, and will still get to play the early NCAA games close to home.

All good points, DF. The ACC is much stronger than the SEC. The ACC has Virginia, Syracuse and North Carolina as viable Top 15 teams. The SEC only has Florida as a top team. So therefore Duke has had many more opportunities to boost their profile than has Kentucky. And UK folks can complain about Duke all they want, but in reality, all complaints should be aimed at the 8-10 schools in the SEC who appear to not even be trying to field a competitive basketball team.

I'm not so sure I'm ready to say the ACC is much better than any other conference. Tennessee beat the dog crap out of the ACC's best team. Wake, NC State, Miami, BC, Clemson, and even Maryland are not that good. Pitt and Cuse are flat out leaking oil.

They should just make a Duke vs UK first round game.

I don't think UK is going to be a 16 seed unfortunately :sneaky:

I was griping about their ranking before they lost last night.

Before last night they were still the 4th best team in the ACC yet still were ranked #4 Nationally.

This isn't about them losing last night, it's about the bias toward them every year. Shoot they could lose a game in previous years and still move up in the rankings lol.

And a missed foul dunk call away from 7 losses. Crazy how this game can be played.

Neither team is very good. Duke isn't very good, but they're a lot better than UK. The argument that Duke is overranked has validity, but when you compare them to UK, you're going to lose credibility.

:lol2:

I will say I don't think the ACC can be ranked better than the 3rd best conference and posssibly the 4th best conference right now. So I think it's fair to wonder how the 4th best team in the 3/4 best conference is ranked in the top 10.

With that said rankings don't matter just seeding and unless Duke wins the ACC tourney I'll be shocked if they are a top 2 seed.

Like I said earlier I love their backcourt minus Thorton. Jabri might be the best player in the country. As a college basketball fan I can't justify their top 10 ranking. I am a UK fan but I am not a Duke hater.
