Most of us were born after segregation of college basketball, and since we have been alive, Kentucky is NOT the premier team-simply one of the best-and that eats at a lot of people. Bad. Keep holding onto those wins in 1945, and keep wearing that "I still hate Laettner" sleeveless Tshirt and your "can't spell Duke without UK" bumper sticker. Michigan football fans, rally up.

I think whats fascinating is that all this hate towards Duke is from the older population. The younger UK fans dont like Duke but dont loathe them like the older ones. Younger fans hate UL much more where the older ones dont as much.

Fair enough. Since my birth UK has four titles, same as Duke, UNC, and one more than UConn & IU. All of these trail the 11 UCLA won in my lifetime.

I'm probably the older group, but I don't loathe Duke. Living so close to Tobacco Road I get tired of the big two.

Due to being extremely busy with work and family, I haven't had nearly enough time to be on BGP. Thought I'd catch up this morning.....but after about 4-5 threads, I'm already tired of this constant barrage of hate. I'll check back in later.

Not jealousy at all. More like trying to figure out how a team that started the season off ranked the highest in the country could be ranked 21 spots higher than Duke with 1 less loss and a Duke team that is ranked higher nationally than they are ranked in their own conference.

 

No jealousy, just trying to make sense of it.

You UK haters always miss the point. Ok let's try this. Let's not even put UK in the picture so your bias won't get in the way. Let's just look at Duke and their record.

 

How is Duke ranked 4th in the country when they aren't even in the top 3 in their own conference, yes a conference that is ranked 5th in the country while other teams (not UK) have less losses and in conferences better than the ACC?

I leave for 2 days and this thread has finally turned into what we expected. Only took 56 posts to bring up how much better UK was in the 50's, and 60's. Just had to make me jealous of those years. Thanks for reminding me that I am indeed envious of your past.
