What if they stayed at Cov Holy Cross?

I'm thinking the use of the word 'boy' was done innocently and without malice. Until it is proven it was done with malicious intent I suggest we move past it and continue with the thread topic.

Thank you.

If "if's and buts" were candy and nuts we'd all have a wonderful Christmas

Silly topic.

Yes I would rather regurgitate the same blah blah blah coming out of everyones mouth on the other threads. We all know who the Big 3 are in the Region. Boooooorrrrrring !!!

This atleast gets people thinking and also allows many posters the ability to understand the dynamics of what can happen to kids over the years, ie Move, transfer, quit, get hurt, etc

Highlands, St Henry and Conner. ;)

.....

I'm sure Kyle Bennett and the Walton Verona community have asked this same question about themselves 1,000 times in the last few months. Imagine the Moeves boys, the McNeil boys, and Burns out in Walton? Yikes!

Does the name Scott Benton ring a bell?????

Bottom line...if Hatton and Avery were at Holmes. Would have been best team in Ky High School Basketball history. PERIOD!!!

Bingo!

I think it is fair to say that Walton Verona would be the NCC of Boys Basketball in NKY this year.

Bottom line...if Hatton and Avery were at Holmes. Would have been best team in Ky High School Basketball history. PERIOD!!!

Okay, I'm pleading ignorance here -- probably very big ignorance. Were there indicators at some point that Hatton was going to play at Holmes?

Hatton was born and raised in Covington and both parents and step-parents graduated from Holmes therefore the reference to him being a Holmes Bulldog. They made a decision to make the move to Dixie and it's worked out fine for them but many wonder what if......

I don't think so.

I think it would be a heck of a game with NCC this year, but not the best team ever.

Maybe should start another thread "best team ever in KY". Early mid 70's Male teams, Lafayette?

With all due respect, the hyperbole has gone off the charts. I'm sure Holmes would be very good with all those players, but I'm not sure they would even be the best team this year. Better than this year's Ballard team, which has 2 of the very best players in the state this year? I'm not sure. I am sure that it is a stretch to suggest that such a team would be better than teams like Seneca 63 or 64 with Wes Unseld and Mike Redd; 1976 Male with Darrell Griffith and Bobby Turner; 1977 Ballard with Jeff Lamp and Lee Raker.

Certainly does....was an excellent player at Walton-Verona.

A very nice player, he joined David Dinn at Wright State. He was also an excellant pitcher growing up. Scott could be very intimidating on the mound, he was twice the size most batters he faced.

My point is(What if)he had attended Boone County HS which at the time was the school district he lived in.....

You would of probably had a nice high/low game between David and him, while the sharpshooter Mr Taulbee stroked them from the outside!:up:
