What if they stayed at Cov Holy Cross?

That was awesome!

Kyle was another BCHS reject that made the daily commute out to WV in the late 80's.

Chad Johnson (George Floyd's newphew) bounced back and forth from W.V. to Boone. Nice guy, he had huge legs.

Todd Goldsberry was another WV/Boone guy played baseball, he had the greatest stache!

I'm done, I think I did pretty well for never attending either school.

Chad Johnson was the best athlete I ever faced in football or baseball....until Eugene Luke flattened me a couple of years later. Chad Johnson's fastball in 7th and 8th grade was ridiculous. Keep in mind, at that time in NKY, you also had Chip Luebbers, Guy Angel, and Rick Hasselbeck...all really nice youth pitchers (and Chip Luebbers went on to pitch for the Reds).

Guy had a cannon, we would scrimmage the Luebbers team at their old house, the Crosley field replica. Scott and Kyle were the pitchers, they had Chip and Rob Newman. A very nice squad.

I am heading over to the regional games now, I am suppose to hook up with Taulbee, I'll see if he can answer our mystery man with the curly hair.

We faced Luebbers in High school when he pitched for St. Henry. He threw gas but we got him as Nick Berkley threw a Jewel for us. It was nice to see him go on and pitch for the Hometown Reds. He had some serious whip action.

Love all the stories and dialogue. Keep it up!

Right about now we que in Bruce Springsteen's "Glory Days".

A little surprised nobody has mentioned what Dixie possibly could have been had Mr McFarland not taken his boys Dave and Steven to Boone County.

And since we are playing the "What If's" think about if these kids stayed on playing hoops and didnt stop to lift weights for football or focus on baseball.

Nick True-6'6 Solid defensive rebounder and had nice touch.

Todd Ramey- 6'3 230lb (Led JV in scoring as soph last year)

Seth Hope- 6'3 (beast on boards as a soph, earned some Varsity minutes)

Ben Weyer- 6'6 (left for NCC after 8th grade year)

Bo Hoge- 6' strong guard who played several years of AAU ball.

Griffin Urlage- 6'1 another good shooting guard who played years of AAU ball.

It would be a much deeper team if you ask me and Listerman would have no issues on the frontcourt as well as depth at the guard spot.

Couple of corrections and add ons

Todd Ramey 6'1"

Bo Hoge 6' and now 207 lbs

Griffin Urlage 6'4" and 220 lbs

Jenson Feggins 6'3" 220 lbs, strong, quick and started several games last year

Any one know where Lane Herrett is? He played half the season as a freshman, then left for Cov Cath and now has left there.

I guess I will have to see it to believe it but if they are this size that is some serious packin it on. They both would have had to of put on 30lbs each.

I believe Feggins and he was definitely an omission. Jenson played a lot as a sophomore and was a very good rebounder.

As far as Herrett, last I heard he was being home schooled.

Chad played on that 1987 boone county team that lost in the regional finals i believe. That team was real good! Greg jordan and Scott schwartz were on that team as well along with Guy angel. Chad was regional POY that year as well. Good memories! Man that team had speed and power!

Yeah, and what if that stat guy stayed there? Oh, never mind.

There were some when he was in grade school and played for tar heels. YES!!! He was possibly attending Holmes, I have been a friend of the family for years through Ronnie, who is Brandon grandpa. his dad Scott lived across the street in the 90's and played on my court, so yes I do know.
