Not a lot to say that hasn't been said. So I'll focus on Knight:

 

Besides mentioning "Secondary Defender" 100x, he wasn't completely awful last night in regards to UK at least. However, I can't stand a commentator who constantly refers to players by their position and rarely by name. Do your job. Do your homework or get out. I actually missed Jimmy Dykes last night. Wow, I just said it.

 

Frustrating loss.

 

To be entirely fair, it's a bit of shared misery, really. As much as Knight has always loathed the SEC, it seems like being relegated to calling nothing but mostly-bad SEC games as he rides out the string has got to be like his own personal hell.

So this is going to be the 2nd straight 10 loss season for Cal at Kentucky....How many more is he allowed before the fans are out with the pitchforks?

 

Maybe he and Roy Williams can trade places?

Why worry about the tourny when it's still the regular season? I'm not even thinking about it yet and just taking this team for what it's worth. If they stink it up in the tourny we can deal with that then, but there is still a lot of Bball to be played.

Knight was particularly irritating with his foul shot predictions as they left the shooter's hand. Hell, I did as well as he did and I guessed them even before they were shot. When a UK player was at the line, I said it would be a miss and when an Arkansas player was shooting them, I predicted a make!

Watching the game again on ESPNU. It looks worse the second time around. And Bobby Knight does not sound any better today. I think Coach Cal shows them the film from the games, but do they really watch what he is showing them?

I think one of the biggest downfalls for this UK team is they don't have a true point guard. Andrew IS NOT a PG. Assuming that he does someday play at the next level, it won't be as a PG. He's too slow, especially on defense, doesn't shoot the ball well enough, is an average ball handler, doesn't make teammates around him better like most PG's do, and makes poor decisions. I realize he is only a freshman (but the pg from Syracuse is only a freshman, too, and look how he's played this year. Look how Knight played in 2011 for the Cats)and may improve in some of these areas, but I don't believe he will ever master that position. And if he can't play that spot, where else can he help a team.

In Cal's offense there has to be an efficient PG. He didn't have one last year and he doesn't again this season.

They'll get a 5 or 6, then have to play a 3 or 4 in Round 2. Providing there is a Round 2.

With the SEC championship game being so late on that Sunfy the bracket will have already pretty much been finished.

Cal- recruiter- great. Coach- not so great.

Yes there is. But I've been hearing for at least 2 months about how this team was going to get better. We've got about 8 days left in the regular season and I haven't seen it yet.

I agree with you, but why worry about the future when you don't even know what they are going to do? It's not worth the time or energy to worry about the tournament until you get there.
