It's been alluded to on here as well as other people talking about it so.... could we see the KHSAA kill the Cordia basketball program this week? Or is this just silly talk from fans of other schools in EKY?

 

Rumors of KHSAA having investigators on the case for a long time as well as signed affidavits from former players detailing violations.

 

Could be an interesting week in EKY.

I still don't know what it is this time. The fight thing seems to be an automatic 2 game suspension. Sounds like there is more. Is there?

I hope there will be an opportunity for all of the relevant information to be shared with the public. Its hard to know who the good guys are and who the bad guys are, or even if there are good or bad guys, without knowing all of the facts.

So if it's a two game suspension for player(s) couldn't or shouldn't this have happened prior to the district tourney. Looks obvious they are wanting to avoid any embarrassment at the Sweet 16 by Cordia making it to Lexington.

Well from everything I've heard, it's going to get ugly either Monday or Tuesday (had heard it would be Monday)...Also heard that several players that played for Cordia have agreed to talk with KHSAA about this issue. Also heard that KHSAA is forcing Rhodes to either resign, if he doesn't resign then they are forcing Cordia to relieve him of his coaching duties......That's just the tip of the iceberg....

I've said since day 1 that this couldn't go on for an extended period of time...everything that Cordia has been doing is illegal and unfair to the other schools in the 14th region and the entire state of Ky., and so many have defended them knowing that they are not in compliance with any legal aspects of Ky. high school basketball....

 

It's been going on for years at several other schools. And don't act like they're the only ones in the 14th pulling from elsewhere.

Isn't the timing very similar to the Fairview situation. Penalties leveled just before the post season. Seems like the KHSAA is acting in these situations so that the collateral damage is minimal.. ie other schools do not lose out on games.

In my years attending the state tournament I have never witnessed such vitriol against one school as I have Cordia. Either they are the most heinous abusers in the state or someone really doesn't like them. I am not here to say they are clean or dirty. I am just saying there is real, live hatred against the program. I have had conversations with many of their opponents fans over the past 2 years and its as bad as I have seen/heard. I took some with a grain of salt and others seem to have legitimate beefs.

 

(yes, even worse than when LexCath had a real nice team a few years back and the wolves were howling).

 

Will be interesting how it plays out.

 

On the court, it could be the most hotly contested region in the state. 4 or 5 teams could come out of there and are all very close IMO.

 

Makes for some fun times at the Hyatt bar come Sweet 16.....

I said before and I'll say it again.......I truly feel bad for the kids in this fiasco. IMO, they are innocent pawns in this whole situation.
