Tallest Players in NKY History?

Featured Replies

CovCath '73 grad Ken Angel played 4 years of ball at University of North Caroline at Charlotte. Not sure exactly how tall he was. Perhaps OldGuy knows the details on Angel.

I think there's a CovCath freshman playing now that might be his nephew or something like that.

I thought the late Jay McCoy (class of 86?) was the tallest player in CovCath history.

I would say Angel or Kenny Mueller 6' 9" might be among the tallest CovCath players.

Good catch... Don't know how I forgot about "Sticks".

'81 Grad from CovCath Don Tourney was another big one. He went on to play at Marshall. 6'7" perhaps?

Who was the big kid from Scott that only played I think his sophomore season back in the early 90s???

'81 Walton grad (Andy?) Burns was another big boy. Think that I was told that the big Burns kid from Brossart is his son.

We still need Dayton, Bellevue, Newport, Campbell Co, Lloyd, Boone Co, Conner, St. Henry, Holy Cross, Scott, Silver Grove, Holmes, who was tallest at Cov. Grant?

Bellevue had a 6'10" kid around 1986/87 don't know his name though

There was an '81 grad at Newport named Eric Harold. Not sure how tall he got. He was the center on our championship Cottage A.C. team back in '76 and at the time was the tallest kid in the league when he was 13.

My sister dated a real big kid from Conner back around '74 or '75 and I think his name was Rick Cook or something like that. Perhaps Clyde remembers who I'm talking about. I was only about 10 or 11 at the time and thought that it was cool that my sister was dating one of their star players.

Rick was about 6'4. Tough player.

Chris Haynes?

If my Dad was wrong, then Jack Greunschlager played on the Hill at 6'10

Chris Haynes?

That's the one. He was huge...
