When I took the tour at Buffalo Trace, their vodka (Rain) was one of the tasting choices.

I don't really understand how people don't like Bourbon more than what I hear. It saddens me.

For NKY bourbon fans Pee Wee's is having a bourbon tasting on Feb 6th. $20. Light appetizers and 4 bourbons: Breckinridge, Lexington, EH Taylor Small Batch, and Van Winkle 12 Yr Special Reserve.

People really choose to drink vodka? I mean besides college chicks?

Hummm...I find that a little hard to believe, the USA being a vodka nation. With that said...you can do more with vodka than you can with bourbon(whiskey) in so far as mixed drinks go, which I would take a guess that's how vodka comes in first. I doubt many people are just slugging back shots of vodka at bars, but getting it mixed drink style. I am no bourbon drinker. If I am out drinking somewhere and it's not a beer, it's usually going to be a mixed drink, possibly a vodka and oj or pineapple juice. Lots of vodka and cranberry juice drinkers out there. Can't do nearly as much of that with whiskey. So, really, once you stop to think about it, it does kind of make sense I guess, more people in this country drinking vodka than other sprits.

We toured Buffalo Trace a couple years ago and the wife purchased a bottle of Rain. Traitor!

I bought a fifth of double-oaked at Woodford Reserve. Still trying to decide if I like it.

My father in law bought a bottle of that when we did the Woodford tour. Cracked it open on Christmas. I definitely like it, and I'm by no means a Woodford guy. Really good stuff.

My grandfather drinks a little bourbon but a great deal of vodka. Go north and you'll find less and less whiskey every mile. And bourbon is definitely on the fringe outside Kentucky.

Guide at Woodford said people who pay big bucks for designer vodkas are just throwing their money away, because the stuff doesn't have much taste whether it's $10 a bottle or $100.

I say "Amen" to that.

If you are gonna do clear, it's gotta be Silver Patron, and not mixed with anything other than ice. I hate Vodka, Gin etc...
