Gulf Shores Alabama

Gulf Shores Alabama

Never been. What makes it different than any other spot?

Almost anywhere along the Outer Banks in NC, especially if you have never been. Then spend a day or two in Wilmington...great costal town.

Somewhere around Charleston S.C. Cool city and the beaches aren't far away. You can stay on numerous barrier islands there.

It's not blown up into a full blown tourist spot yet. There's tourists, don't get wrong, but no where near the crowds or lack of privacy as you'll find in other popular places.

Gulf Shores is on our list of vacation spots to visit. I have heard great things about it! We've been to Isle of Palms in South Carolina which is very nice also!

I just went to Indian Shores, Florida this year and loved it. It is very quite with beautiful beaches, clear water and no crazy tourist traffic, but It is right between Clearwater and St. Pete so it is very short drive if you want the crowded tourist stuff. We'll be going back and I'd recomend it to anyone.

The Outer Bank are cool. Just spent Thanksgiving there.

We went to Seaside, FL last year. Really small community. It is actually where the Truman Show was filmed. Seaside was awesome and the beaches were not that crowded.

I'm going to Kiawah Island with my wife's family this July. I've never been, but they all absolutely LOVE it. It's like 20 minutes from Charleston. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Gulf Shores is pretty good... I went several years back

and had a good stay.

Went there for a CE course. Nice but everything there was extremely overpriced, IMO

Love Destin.

But will admit that I have not spent that much time at other beach locations.

I don't know what the beaches are like near Charleston, SC, but man that is a cool town!

Need more info. How old are you? Any kids? Large family going? Is money an object?

When we went to Gulf Shores there were 8 of us. We had a beach house in a gated community of about 8-10 houses, that had a private pool, private tennis court, an outdoor patio area with a large grill, and access to a private beach less than 100 yards away. It was extremely reasonably priced as well IMO.

If anyone is looking into going down there, I can probably get you name of where we stayed if anyone is interested. I loved it.
