I am part of the 81% R U?

Featured Replies

In watching the news this evening I was able to learn that only 19% of the nation are smokers, still sad to see the number this high.

I am proud to be part of the 81%.

81% for me, grew up suffocating in the back seat with smoking parents in the front seat. I've never smoked or even tried it, dipped Skoal for about 6 months because I thought it was cool in High School.

I'm guessing that is of tobacco.

Because if various post over the year on BGP looks like there are only about 19% of us not smoking marijuana.

Non-smoker.

I dip, my frequency varies. Used to be I only did it if I was having a drink or two but then I started using the pouches. I might put in one or two when I get home from work at night. I am glad that smoking #'s are on the decline though because it effects others and it smells awful.

81% but I grew tobacco as a kid and young adult. That is probably why I never touched the stuff

I smoked cigarettes from 19-34ish. Quit cold turkey and never looked back. The trick to quitting cold turkey is getting past the initial 2-3 weeks of quitting. After about a month away from cigarettes you'll finally realize how disgusting they are.

I do enjoy a cigar from time to time.

As of Oct 1 2013, I am of the 81%

Its tough at times, the urge never goes away but it's not as hard as I thought it would be. I also feel a ton better and can actually take deep breaths which I couldn't do before.

Smoked for 34 years.

Never have tried smoking of any sort nor have I tried chewing tobacco.

Same here and never will.

I will smoke a cigar myself.

Watched my grandma die of lung cancer, remember all the trips to the hospital for air and the docs telling is, "we can give her air, but can't do anything else." Nasty drawn out death, needless to say I'm an antismoking advocate.

Quit dipping for two years. Moved back closer to my family and started again.

Well, you ARE in Hardin Co. When in Rome....
