Knott County Central 54 Dixie Heights 52

If you think NCC's guards struggled with Cordia, you'll be in for a long day with Justice. NCC does have 3 capable bigs though, which will pose problems for KCC.

And they should. KCC has 2 bigs and NCC has 3. Whether NCC can contain Justice remains to be seen. We all(well, some of us) know that Justice is capable of exploiting a match up as well. Both teams go about 7 deep so IF they meet it could and should be a fun game.

And if KCC wins we'll see excuses.

NewCath had an "off" day against Cordia, and congrats to Cordia for a great game plan. However, if they tried to "run" with the Breds like PRP did today........NewCath blows them out of the water.

NewCath and Knott Co. would be a great game to see, let's hope it happens.

You are correct LB. They both better pay attention to the next game or we won't see this game. No gimme's now.

Dixie Heights has earned a lot of respect throughout the state with their performance this week. They definitely got my attention.

Yes they have. They have put the 9th on notice.

Some regions in the mountains are pretty notorious for calling things fairly tight too. Just depends on the area.

Truth. Good teams adjust.

I got bashed big time for trying to tell people throughout the summer that Dixie was going to be a problem for teams in the 9th region and #3 wasn't too high for them....the way they've played lately is showing why I made those comments. They might not be flashy, but what they do very well is play defense and that wins a lot of games.

#3 is too high for them. They need other consistent scoring options and their bigs need to get stronger. Hatton when healthy is an outstanding high school player, but you aren't going to beat the top 3 in the 9th with him alone. They have solid complementary players, but Rabe and Schreck (et al) need to be consistent scorers.

Bashing the refs, any refs from any region, is so silly.

BTW on an related note I would like to know why KHSAA passes were not being accepted.

You need to read the back of your Coaches pass.......Regular season games only.

There's going to be a lot of crow ate soon. I'm looking forward to it. Doesn't NCC have to win another game before they play Knott Central? They better get past that obstacle before talking about destroying the mountain team.

I wasn't trying to bash the refs, just stating an observation from watching years of basketball. Like PP92 said, good teams will adjust.

I know that it says "regular season high school athletic events" and isn't this tourney held during the regular season? It's definitely not post season.

Agree. I'm still on the Lafayette bandwagon. Davis and Jenkins are some big boys who can bang with NCCs bigs.

Did you watch the game????? NCC got hosed by the refs that game. No way Cordia is within 50 points of NCC. Those damn 11th Region refs. Don't call nothing for 9th Region teams. Hell, Cordia is #10 in the 9th Region. NCC just got hosed by the refs. That's why it was so close.

Finally, you have seen the light.

DISCLAIMER: THIS DID NOT CAUSE DIXIE TO LOSE

.... I just watched the replay of the 5 second call on Dixie late in the game and it was just plain awful. Daria calls a TO 3 seconds after the ball was thrown to him and they call a 5 sec violation. Every game will have some iffy calls but counting to 5 shouldn't be too tough.

Really looking forward to seeing Jackson tomorrow against Newcath. I'll be there to get video.

I'm glad Morehead State is in the OVC. They'd never get out of the 9th Region.
