Is Mayfield that low. I don't know, but they seemed to have a lot of people believing they could have competed higher. I have know idea. Didn't see them play. But reading about them just makes me want to hear others opinions.

After watching most of each of the games I don't think they beat anyone above them on a consistent basis. Could they win a game against someone above them sure they could but I don't see them being a favorite against anyone above them.

I agree. It's always tough to rank 1A teams especially of they don't consistently play higher class good teams to use a

Measuring stick with. Mayfield great 1A team but we have no idea how they would play against the higher title game participants.

That is all they did play against other than the required games. McCracken, Tilghman, Murray, Graves, Caldwell and they were all ranked and all pretty good. Not to mention Russellville twice, Ft Campbell and Frankfort. I think they would be 7 or 8th myself but I do own a brand new pair of Cardinal glasses. That said this was not a overly talented team but it was one that was very solid across the board with no super stars but no slackers either. IQ wise this team ranks very high and I think that wins them alot of games

I watched the game Friday and what I loved about Mayfield was out of all the games this year they clearly were the

Most dominate in their game.

I was much more impressed with Mayfield than I was Belfry or Wayne. Belfry had a very good defense, but, I feel Mayfields defense would contain there offense and that Mayfield's offense would be able to score enough to beat them. If Wayne had any semblance of a running game, they'd have been more impressive. Mayfield was a more complete team then either, imo. Very balanced offensively, good speed, but, excellent team speed, great line, very smart QB with great accuracy and leadership and a very good kicking game on top of it. They just didn't have much to exploit.
