i will take a shot at this:

That might be about how I rank them. I might flip-flop DeSales and Mayfield. Maybe move Pulaski to 8 and move everyone else down accordingly, but could live with where you have them.

It was a jab at the poster who called Wayne Count one dimensional after Belfry shut their run game down.. much like Caldwell Wayne made their hay with a very good passing game but had over 2000 rushing yards.

 

Essentially I was comparing Wayne's offense to Caldwell's.

 

It's easy to call a team one dimensional right after a great defense shuts it down, but the stats paint a different picture.

 

Caldwell's run game fed off of its passing game. The pass opened up many holes in defenses all year. Not that the RB isn't good, because he is. Just a matter of fact. Caldwell got stopped on a cold night when they got dedicated to the run.

Caldwell ran the ball only 17 times and threw it 33 in their loss to Murray? I would not call a 2:1 ratio being "dedicated to the run". In fact I remember people asking specifically why Caldwell went away from the run?

The passing game that Caldwell played all year included very few screen passes. Something they tried to feature against Murray. You obviously never watched them play or have a clue how the game went.

After going back and rewatching all the games, I'm gonna make a few changes:

My changes were moving Collins up to 3, I moved Pulaski way up to 6. Collins deserved to move up because they had great balance on offense and was solid against the run. Highlands was pretty much forced to pass because that was there only way to move the ball and they had some big plays, but, it wasn't because Collins was in the wrong position, it was because Highlands made good plays. Pulaski's passing game was also very good and that QB of theres(Johnny Football Jr clone) could play. He was effective on the run or in the air and they had 3-4 stud receivers and a couple of really solid RBs that'd flat laying you out. I also thought there D was good, especially in the 1st half and 3/4 way thru the 3rd qtr. A lesser team other than a BG, may very well have went down against that Pulaski team.

I'll choose not to validate the terrible call in the 6A final and show NCC a lil more respect :thumb:

Are you related to UK Fan#1, LOL. Like your inability to resist the temptation. I will say that Mayfield is very good and unless they were to play any of these teams it is hard to compare scores, what ifs, etc. They are state champs and I would say they could compete with any of these teams.
