December 7, 201312 yr I used to have no fear when I was younger, but as I've aged, I've gradually become much more careful. I'm fortunate that I can work from home and generally don't venture out when the white stuff falls out of the sky. But on those occasions when I must venture out, I drive very slowly and give myself plenty of room as the "better" drivers whiz past me at close to normal speeds. What is equally disturbing is the number of people that drive in heavy rains like everything is normal. The number of accidents you see when it rains should be a clear indicator that you should be a lot more careful and slow down at least a little bit. 10 extra MPH or so more, doesn't really save you all that much time. My dad taught me everything I know about bad weather driving. His words, "Respect Mother Nature. This is one Mother you definitely don't want to try rebellion on. You won't win.". I've never had a bad weather accident. And I taught my kids what my dad taught me, and they've never had a bad weather accident either.

December 8, 201312 yr It was sleet this morning on my way to work, then switched over to heavy snow by about 9 am. Now it's not doing anything.

December 10, 201312 yr Well, just totalled my car this morning. Another driver going the opposite way lost it on a curve and slid into my lane. Thankfully neither of us were seriously injured.
