Mayfield has a solid run game and I believe Mayfield will find a way to run against Williamsburg's defense. And when Williamsburg begins to bring more into the box, Mayfield may just throw a few touches over the top to spread them out. Mayfield's front line, I believe, will stir up some pressure and make the QB uncomfortable. Mayfield wins in the trenches.

I, like practically everyone else were just pointing out what you said and what actually was on the thread snd'or happened. Maybe you want to play that "All against me, Williamsburg" card. I don't know but you trying to claim that no one giving your Jackets any credit is just not true.

You are proud of your team as you certainly should be. I know that I along with others here are proud of our schools, teams. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that or having confidence. Just a note - just bc someone may predict, pick an opponent of W-burg to beat you doesn't at all mean that person is against the Jackets. That means they think the other team will win, that's all and there is nothing more to it than simply that. I thought that Raceland would beat Williamsburg, that did not mean that I wanted to insult Williamsburg, just was what I thought. And btw I was way wrong, your Jackets handed ours back to us and were no doubt the better football team and that is what I said after the game.

You seem to have the "I" syndrome..(I did this, I said that, I knew this, etc..). I have no idea what you are attempting to stir up but it's just not working.

So, I have no animosity toward your team, you or anyone Give that one up. Thank you. Mayfield has a strong program. Williamsburg has built theirs year by year and is slowly becoming one of 1A's strongest programs. IMO Mayfield is much better than Williamsburg on paper, but paper means nothing when it comes to the playoffs. Williamsburg is a good team or they would not be in the finals. Anything can happen. It would be interesting to see Williamsburg contest Mayfield for an entire game, but I think Mayfield's experience and endurance runs away with this one early in the second half.

Yes. They're run game was very simple. They thro in a QB draw, fullback draw, or a off tackle zone on first down. Very simple. IMO you need a sound running game if you want to beat Mayfield. You have to keep their defense on the field, and their offense on the sideline.

The Cardinals have been on quite a role these last few years. Honestly, this is probably the least talented team they've had, but, it maybe the best TEAM they've had. I think it's Coach Morris's best coaching job of his career. He's pushed all the right buttons with this group and the kids are like sponges that soak in everything the coaches say. They might be void of superstars like Jackson, Higginson, Brown, Shelton, Murrell, but, all they do is line em up every week and kick other teams tails all up and down the field. Not much more you could ask for.

True but 9 of those wins are by this years senior class at Williamsburg. No one would argue Williamsburg has the tradition of Mayfield, but they are definitely changing the culture over the last 8 to 10 years.

I don't think Mayfield has ever been the new kid on the block. I know they were rated #1 in the whole state back in 52. Been playing football since the early 1900's. I believe the 3rd winningest program in the state. I guess they were the new kid back around 1910.
