Tipping For Pizza

Featured Replies

....or for any food delivery, I suppose. How do you determine what you tip?

-So you have a set amount?

-Do you use a percent of total price?

-Do weather conditions figure in?

-Time of day?

-How far they have to walk from their car to your door? ...and how much they were carrying?

-How about if they're late? What if there was traffic?

Lets hear what your personal pizza tipping algorithm is.

Lets hear what your personal pizza tipping algorithm is.

I usually give 5 bucks as a tip. Unless we are having a party and ordering a lot of pizza's. But just for the family it's usually 5 bucks

Usually 5 for a normal order.

Drivers get paid hourly as well and most don't drive long distances.

I typically give them $5 as well because they are super close to me. Sometimes more in bad weather. I used to deliver pizza so I know how it can be sometimes. $5 is a solid tip for a short distance trip.

I rarely tip the driver...

...you don't tip your own son when you make him go pick up a carry out order do you?

Heyooooo!

Did your pizza place charge a delivery fee? If so do they give a portion of it to the driver? I typically pick up because it is so close but when I do get a delivery I usually tip around $3 to $5 but would be inclined to tip more if none of the delivery charge went to the driver.

If there is a delivery fee, the driver gets that... So I usually tip two or three dollars.

I usually tip at least 4 bucks if it is under 20 bucks. 5 bucks if it is between 20-30 bucks. Probably about 7-10 for anything over 40 bucks.

I usually tip at least 4 bucks if it is under 20 bucks. 5 bucks if it is between 20-30 bucks. Probably about 7-10 for anything over 40 bucks.
So you always tip $7-$10?
