Just cracking a joke. I mentioned 12 was my lucky number earlier and when UKMF used 36 as an example I got happy because that is one of my lucky numbers as well. A fella can't have enough lucky numbers. If I was in a race and my bib number was 1236, I'd kick some serious butt.

 

While we have never meet, from reading BGP regularly I feel that I know you somewhat, and let's be real, they only time that you are going to be wearing a bib is if it comes with a lobster or plate of ribs.

You'd be offended if a number was removed ?

As I stated earlier I think we are putting too much importance on numbers. The only reason the numbers 666 are such a faux pas is because we make it to be such an evil thing when in reality it is just a number. I get the whole religious beliefs, standing up for her beliefs and all that stuff but at the end of the day God isn't going to refuse her rightful entrance into heaven if she had worn that number. As I mentioned, my phone ends in 666 and I chuckled when it was assigned to me because I could hear all of the corny jokes about my phone number that I was going to hear for the rest of my life. Seeing as how I share my name with a guy from Seinfeld who only kind of resembles me I am used to obvious jokes that lean on the corny side, but I digress. I am sure I could have gotten a new number if I wanted but my relationship with God and my faith runs deeper than three numbers that aren't anything more than numbers. If she were my child I would say for her to do what you feel is right in your heart but that if you feel your faith is tested or mocked because of three numbers assigned to you for a race then I would like to see you take those numbers and run that race in the vision that God wants you to. Isn't rebuking the devil part of the daily life of a Christian?

Never said she was looking for an out. I just think the choice was MUCH easier since she wasn't going to qualify. All the articles lead the reader to think otherwise. This didn't keep her from qualifying for state as she isn't magically going to shave 5 minutes off her PR in a few weeks.

 

How did you find out what her best time was?

Did she make a mountain out of a mole hill or did LEX18?

 

Bingo. All I heard her say was that she would just try to qualify again next year.

I run with a CC coach. They have access to that stuff. :)

 

I do think it's an internet site but you have to pay for complete access.

Uh, nope. That's me saying I wouldn't have an issue with the organizers from an event discarding the number 666 if the event was sanctioned by a religious body.

It would have to be ribs. I have a shellfish allergy. :lol:
