No disrespect to Boyd County, but they barely scored seven on Raceland's JV. Raceland won that game 47-7 and never (including the first drive) had all the starters on the field at the same time.

Boyd might beat the Froshmores in the fourth quarter by that 31-28, but the final score will be way out of reach of an upset. I am predicting 70-42 Birds.

Here is just another example of why not to have four teams from a district go to the playoffs. Raceland, although a pretty darn good 1A team, but still a 1A team beat Boyd Co. 47-7 and the J.V. played all of the 3rd qtr, all of the 4th along with the frosh. Actually, Raceland never had the complete starting unit in at any point in the game. Had they wanted to could have very easily scored 80-90 +. So........Highlands can easily win this with their JV, finishing with Frosh, starters not dressing.

Highlands wins by....I am not going to put that embarrassing of a number up.

Don't lose sleep over the split the pot, the score will give the split the pot a run for it's money. I won't mention any names but one visiting team that was geared up and ready to take on the Birds brought about ten fans with them. It was supposed to be a game, but it wasn't close.

This does not bold well for Boyd County..

Nope...Highlands respects their opponents and will always be on the look out for a team laying in the weeds:thumb:

 

Will Highlands win and win big? most probably. But to discount an opponents ability and disrespect them is not Dale's style.JMO

 

Heck that game against WC might have been a "wake up" call for the Birds just in time for the playoffs...

 

How could a game that coulda/shoulda been a running clock all of a sudden be a wake up call for Highlands? You saw the game Sweep. Birds will steamroll Boyd and I'm telling you right now, if any team wants to have a chance at stopping Highlands this year, they better learn how to pass. That is how you beat Highlands.

And there are #4 seeds that are going to win games this weekend. The players and coaches from Boyd Co. will get an experience they will always remember just being on the field with Highlands and getting to play across from them. They will be one of the few people in the state with first hand experience of playing against Highlands. There will be players on other teams who will ask them what it was like. Life is made up of all our experiences, good and bad, and we try to learn something from all of them.

I certainly respect your opinion on the 4 teams advancing. I just disagree, there are some teams with only 1 win in the playoffs, possibly some winless teams due to the 4 team districts. I guess that my way of thinking is that a last place team, some with no wins at all have advanced should not be rewarded for finishing last. I have said that I would be for 3 teams going, mainly bc that would reward a District Champion with a 1st round bye plus eliminate a lot of embarrassing blowouts, no kid wants to be beaten, embarrassed by 50-60 points. Actually, two teams advancing would be o.k. with me as well, puts even more emphasis on the regular season, district play. JMO and as I said, I certainly respect your opinion.

Now...let's get ready for some football.
