It was just for show tonight because WSAZ was there. really a lot of misinformation with Musick saying he hadn't asked for resignations, yet confirming they had resigned, and then Coach saying he was asked to resign. Someone isn't exactly telling the truth. Why would you resign if you are innocent?

Few answers about Fairview resignations

WESTWOOD — A short Fairview school board meeting Monday resulted in few answers and one glaring question: Why did the high school principal and the head football coach resign suddenly if no one asked them to do so?

 

Superintendent Bill Musick denied calling on Fairview High principal and athletic director Garry McPeek or football coach Nathan McPeek to step down, and board member Jeff Preston said the board did not do so either.

The AD/Principle is an assistant coach.

The Superintendent is the former coach who rents property to transfers.

The Board Chairman is an assistant coach.

 

Talk about the fox being in charge of the hen house.

Rose Hill got a two year post season ban for an improper scholarship for 1 player. A player that didn't play his senior year.

 

I have to believe that the hammer is coming down at least that hard on Fairview.

Yes but LCA and Louisville Holy Cross have has slaps on the hand. KHSAA are just like the NCAA when it comes to punishment and enforcement.

This is why KHSAA needs to step in now if they have proof and end the drama and ban them from coaching again. Ban the team from the playoffs and move on.

O.K., Here is another tid bit of info that may or may not be connected to the goings on in the beloved mossy bottom. I have a former famiy member who sadly passed away around 12 yrs. ago. This man had a management position at an area savings and loan business. A Fairview coach / administrator from back in the day when my family member was a coach at Raceland was talking to him at his office. This was when the controversy, all out cheating was happening at Rose Hill with their basketball program. Rose Hill had not had the boo come down on them, was before that when they were first getting all the Huntington superstars. I am saying all that to lead to the conversation between the then Fairview administrator and my family member. They were talking about Rose Hill and what was obviously going on there when the administrator laughed and said..." yes, absolutely that's what they are doing but I am sure not going to jump on them bc not just yet, but we are in the process of helping with it and taking football players while Rose Hill were going to continue to take the basketball talent. A person on here can believe me or not but my family member or I were not and am not a liar.

Obviously, the football talent didn't start rolling in at Fairview immediately but it wasn't all that much longer until C. Jennings was the first WVA kid at Fairview. My opinion the delay in that was that Rose Hill got busted so imo Fview may have just lay low for a while. Do I know that ? No, but looking back it doesn't sound all that crazy now bc the WVA talent started coming in when Musick was coach, giving up the coaching position for the eventual superintendent position just a couple years or so later. Hmmm, does sound a little suspicious, uh ?

More ironc Fairview / R.H. connections then were....R.H. basketball coach when Mayo and the others were there was Jeff Hall, a Fairview Alum. I could go on about B. Musick leaving the coaching job at Johson Central to take over the Fairview coaching position and principal under P. Reliford (superintendent), Musick's football coach when he played at Fairview as I said earlier but one gets the idea.

I believe someone said that to your relative but there was no connection between Rose Hill and Fairview. In addition any problems Rose Hill encountered was much later.

Funny, all is pretty quiet today on here, everyone must have got their bellies full over the weekend. There will never be a "tell all" unless someone writes a book and there are those involved that will somehow steer clear. The real question is "Will the penalties from playing the ineligible player be enough to slay the dragon?" I don't believe that all the dealings will ever be made public in a confirming way from the KHSAA.

 

If there is no post season ban involved I don't believe the dragon will die.
