NKY Coaches Poll Week 8

Nah SK all the way!!!! Cake is good!

Haha, I love your enthusiasm, but I don't think Losing to Elder by a few points will knock HHS from the top spot. Now if it was a local team they lost to it would be different, but not Elder.

Still best team in N Ky!!!

What ever makes you feel good!

I wouldn't worry too much about it UKFan, polls don't mean diddly anyway. Get to the state championship game and then people can't say squat. Local polls mean nothing.

Elder 30 Highlands 27 ... everyone knows how good Elder is.

Simon Kenton 44 Bullitt Central 7 ... Bullitt is a 4-5 class 5A team.

Is there anything in those two scores that would cause a rational person to suddenly think Simon Kenton is better than Highlands? For me, the Elder score further convinces me that Highlands is #1 in N. Ky.

For years I've railed against coach polls. They simply either a)don't care b)hold a grudge or c)simply do not have enough time to evaluate each team.

SK having any first place votes probably validates all 3 of the above.

It's politics on steroids brother. Same with all post season awards. Horrible.

This is exactly why I would not be surprised if SK ended up jumping Highlands for the top ranking. Like I said..it doesn't have to make total sense. Those polls never do.

Wrong! SK played their worst game and still won. SK also could have scored in the minutes but downed the ball and ran the time out.

It's funny how if it's a close game your excuse is "SK didn't play well"... Maybe the other team had something to do with that?

And you're right SK may have scored in the final minutes but maybe they wouldn't have. Their offense was pretty much held in check all night by the Dixie D. You got points off a kickoff return when the coverage didn't go where they were supposed to and off a short field after a fumbled punt. So of the 3 td's you did score only 2 were offensive and only 1 was a real solid drive by the Pioneers. But SK won and that's all that matters.

However to use the excuse that the only reason it was close was because "SK played their worst game" is a poor excuse.

I think 1990 was Scott's best record. Not sure if it was a winning season though.

Scott is 3 touchdowns better than Beechwood and NCC!

Sorry, not a buyer of what you're sellin'.

They can play with both those teams and possibly win. Don't think they'd win by 3 td's

Agree.

Scott would beat both NCC and Beechwood. I might of been a little overzealous with the 3 TD margin. Scott played South Oldham and Conner very closely and if the ball bounces another direction then they could of easily won those games.

baby steps to a winning season.........

baby steps to two winning seasons in a row........not 23 years later......

....then step to the keyboard and call teams out......

......even a blind squirrel finds a win now and then.....
