My home town high school are "the Millers". We had a flour mill in town that donated the money for our first basketball uniforms. Many years later, other team chants were about the insect: "Swat those bugs" or "squash them."

I've always thought that Nicholas County has a cool mascot, the "Blue Jackets".

 

One that has never made sense to me is Williamsburg being the "Yellowjackets", yet their colors are Orange and Black? If you mascot has a specific color within the name, it should be that color..or call themselves the Orangejacket's.

 

Corbin being the Redhounds is a tops for me.

 

I thought McCracken County missed the boat not calling themselves the "Mudcats", being an Ohio/MS River town.

 

Id love to see any new rural/merged schools be called the "Aggies", especially if a large agricultural community (I also think this would generate some excitement from the rural parts who probably couldn't care less about athletics; football in particular).

Speaking of the good old days, what was Sandy Hook's mascot? My dad says he watched Sandy Hook play a basketball game at Belfry in the 60s. The cheerleaders did a cheer that would never, ever fly today. It went
