?? He has to have better ball security than that. He tried to stretch a play and minimize the lost yardage from the sack and didn't put the ball away. That's like saying that BJGE's fumble wasn't his fault.

Actually back to back weeks. The fumble in the PITT game was a turning point as well. I joked with a buddy that I don't remember Marvin winning a challenge the entire time we had season tickets and now he did it back to back weeks. Amazing.

I have said that and agree the D-line is a direct aspect. What I don't get is how you can seriously say the defensive backs in 2005 was better. They finished 27th against the pass, couldn't play much man because they couldn't cover anyone man to man. When they did play man they had to play 10 yards off and gave up passes all day. Your to smart to seriously act like getting interceptions shows that someone is better. Those DB's when they did get interceptions were getting flat out beat, and was not like the QB sat there waiting all day, it usually still happened fast. Just like there is a reason why 3 of the 4 starting DB's didn't make it in the league after the next season. If those DB's in 2005 had this defensive front, this defensive front wouldn't look good because of how far back the DB's had to play because they were not capable of playing close tight man. How many times did we see that year a 3rd and 8 and them still playing 10 yards off and allowing a slant go for the first down? Those corners were great at capatlizing on mistake throws but sucked at the other aspects of it. Now they probably wouldn't have finished 27th against the pass if they had this d-line but still wouldn't finish in top 10 and definitely would not have held QB's to under 300 yards passing in 17 straight games.

Turning point of the game, in papa's opinion, was the 15-yard penalty on the XP that put the Pack up 16. Follow that with another 15-yarder for a late hit a few plays into the Bengals' next possession and the momentum had swung.

There wasn't a single corner on that team with the same ability of Leon Hall. INT is a misleading stat with DB's. How often were they thrown at? A lot of factors. The depth at CB is much greater this year as well. This defense as a whole is so much better than 2005's I wouldn't want to trade a thing from that year to replace on this team.

Your better than that man if you think more interceptions means someone is a better corner. Even though we disagree a lot because of your always negative outlook I do see you as a pretty knowledgeable sports fan. So come on man. Those guys couldn't defend well at all that's why they had to play a lot of zone and off coverage man. They gave up tons of yards and completions majority of games. However bypplaying zone and off man it did allow them to try to read the quarterback and jump routes. Which is why you always seepeople who play zone and off man get more interceptions. In bump and run man which the Bengals do now you don't get much chance to jump routes and make plays on a ball.O'Neal was a pro bowler because he got a lot of picks by doing this even though the majority of the plays besides the picks he got burnt. However in the league there are two ways to make pro bowl. Even have a reputation for being a shut down corner or get a lot of picks that make you stand out.
