Bengals 34 Packers 30

One thing about Dalton is in the first half he had that terrible interception. He needs to hold the ball more, and he got happy feet. So he still has a long way to go because he is still the key. However at the end of the day, he ended up outplaying the best QB in the league. Dalton went 20 for 28 for 235 yards and 2 touchdowns, 1 interception and a passer rating of 105. While Rodgers threw 43 passes for 26 for 43 and just 244 yards 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions and a passer rating of 64.5. Now Dalton is not even Rodgers league, but for today at least he did out play him. Even though Dalton still has a lot of improving to do.

Offense as a whole hold on to the dang ball, and they should be pretty explosive.

What do you mean Mal? The fact that I get on here and look at the update thread just now and see how you were calling me out on there, acting like you all were proved right. You mean the fact Hellbird kept saying most talented team my arse. The fact Hellbird stated that Dalton is horrible. Then you all get proven wrong in the end? So its ok to call me out and laugh on what I would say if they lose, but you won't stick around when that all got proved wrong? I know its troubling that the Bengals have backed me up more the last few years than everyone who disagrees with me lol but at least stick around to take it. :D

I will give you your due. Yep, they won, and against the Green Bay Packers. I am happy they won. And I will take it as just that a win in the NFL is never a bad thing! Again since it's a win, the positives are what I will talk about. Defense really played well in the adversity of all of the turnovers. Bernard really looks good. 2-1 record.

The negatives can be talked about too, and rightfully so when you have 4 straight turnovers. However you seen it in the update thread, and you even called me out in it. People who seemed more happy that they were losing, so they can poke a jab at me. People who are still complaining just to complain, and not seeing that wow we actually do have a very good team here. Its just the people who complain just to complain that gets me going, especially the whole looking through orange shaded glasses comments. It seems the negative bias keeps people from realistically seeing that this team is very good. It doesn't mean that there are not flaws though, like with the coaching staff and still questions on the QB.

I'm still not sold on them as being very good. We shall see?

A good team does not have 4 turnovers and still beat a top team. This shows that they do have a very good team to be able to do that, but they do have to keep working on the stupid mistakes they make if they want to keep it going.

If the team fails this year it will be because Dalton didn't take the next step, or the coaching staff cost them games. Which I admit both of those are very possible.

I've had season tix for 33 years and this is the wildest game I have ever seen. There have been some wild ones, but they were almost always one play. This was a comedy of erros. Rodgers is 0-20 when trailing read that in a comment on Pro Football Talk, (so I am not sure how valid this GB fan was) on the last drive against teams with winning records. Not pretty, but I will take it every time.

Yep. They won today despite a lot of that. I do think the D is special. There was a lot of pressure put on the D today, and they held up. But the way they played today is not a great blueprint for success.

Another interesting stat: The Bengals lead the NFL in going 17 straight games without allowing a 300 yard passer. Included in that group, both Mannings and Rodgers. Vastly underrated Defensive backfield IMO. They did an outstanding job on probably a top 3 receiving corps in the NFL today against the Pack. irealize their defensive line is outstanding, but they were on them today mostly man to man with some help at times but not the majority of time.

I saw a tweet from CBS that said Rodgers is 5-17 in games decided 4pts or less. That was a mind blowing stat. Bottom line the Bengals defense is deep and talented. One of the best units in the NFL. How far we go will depend on Dalton limiting turnovers and just allowing playmakers to make plays. Dalton frustrates me , but this team is to talented . He needs to grow for the Bengals to go far.

No doubt I can't argue that, majority of the time if you even have 2 turnovers you probably lose. However to turn it over 4 straight times inside the 40 to the best offense in the league, and only give up 16 points is saying something. Green Bay against most teams would have ended the game in the first half. Especially Bengal teams of old would have never overcame that. The defense played great all game, and the offense even made some plays in the 2nd half to get them back into the game and get the momentum back. Good teams can do that, and the Bengals did. They definitely can't make a habit of that though, and have to cleanup those mistakes or it will catch up to them.

Thats what I keep trying to say. Its not a bad defensive secondary at all. They have talent there, now do they have any shutdown corners? Not at all. Which there are very few shut down corners in the league. So most secondaries do look bad if there is no pressure on the QB, which is what happens sometimes when the D-line doesn't get pressure. However even today the Bengals good coverage that allowed the rush to get there. It is not a great secondary but it is a very underrated secondary

Ummmm, but wait a minute. Isn't what you said about the secondary with no D-line tthat can pressure the exact same thing I said about the 2005 cb's with the poor D-line we had? I thought so lol. See you are coming around.

Bengals have the defense to win a Super Bowl. But not an offense, as of right now.

Bengals may need Bridgewater to come in and lead the way.

Per FOX' date=' Bengals first team in NFL history to win after leading by 14, then trailing by 16.[/quote']

I believe it. I was taking a test for a potential job and when the guy running the show told us the Bengals had just taken the lead I called him a liar and I didn't think twice about it.
