For me it is all about the group texting.

If it is a one word reply I can send it in about 5 mins

How long does it take to receive one text and send a reply?

 

Consider the entire process and think about how much of an interruption to your day would that one transaction take?

 

Lets say you are working on your car and your phone dings to let you know you have a text. How long does it take from the time you put down the wrench, pick up the phone and read the text, send the reply, and then lay the phone back down and pick back up the wrench to resume your work?

I have what I call "fat thumb" syndrome....I refuse to use text lingo, so it takes me a while to type anything that will be a long reply, and I proof read before sending...most of the time.

 

Funny side note...Friday night I was texting my son from the Colerain/Trinity game. I didn't proof it, because I didn't want to miss any of the action. My phone auto corrected Colerain to Cholera. :lol:

10 to 15 seconds. I use text shorthand with some people.

Depends on who has texted me. If it's someone important, like a lady friend, they get a quick reply.

If things keep going the way they are, we're going to evolve to have some insanely strong thumbs.

Provided that I remember to hit 'Send' it's 30 seconds or less unless I need to be real careful about what I say and how it's going to come across. I've sent some novels (when a phone call wasn't appropriate) that have taken me a lot of time.
