September 9, 201313 yr I've for a long time considered Marvin Lewis to be the worst HC in the entire league. No coach in NFL history that I know of has kept his job after 10 years of having a losing record and no playoff wins. I went and looked at the coaching records of every coach in the league right now and out of every head coach hired before 2010 there is only 1 with a worst winning % than Marvin Lewis. That coach is Jim Schwartz (hired in 2009) with the Lions with a wining % of .344 Out of all the coaches in the league no one has more losses than Marvin Lewis (81) and before someone says "Lewis has been coaching longer than most so of course he will have more losses" I say simply look at the winning % and you will see that even coaching longer he still has one of the worst winning % which tells me that if every coach coaching now coaches for 10+ years they will have less losses than Marvin. There is a reason that the 2 longest tenured coaches are Bill Belichick and Marvin Lewis. 1 is a coach with 5 SB appearances and the most wins out of any active coach, and the other is a coach of a team owned by a guy who has never hired an established head coach and refuses to fire a coach as long as people are buying tickets. Mike Brown gave this guy an extension after one of the worst seasons in Bengals history, that should explain a lot why Marvin is still here. Marvin Lewis winning % is .497 Not good.
September 9, 201313 yr I don't know if Lewis is the worst head coach, but he sure may coach for the worst owner in the league.
September 9, 201313 yr Other teams who are much worse than the Bengals shed their coaches on a regular basis, hoping to improve from the top down when obviously things aren't working. Works for some, not so much for others. On the whole, I agree with Hellbird's sentiments but even more so with BVM23 - it's on Brown.
September 11, 201313 yr Rex Ryan is the worst to me. But it is getting harder to defend Marvin anymore. Edited September 11, 201313 yr by JokersWild24

September 11, 201313 yr It'll be Mike Tomlin if Todd Haley hangs around long as OC. The Steeler's O-Line is horrible this year, and it really couldn't have happened to a better quarterback IMO.
September 12, 201313 yr Tom Coughlin. He's supposedly loosened up some in his years. I think I remember reading/hearing that he would host poker nights for the team and do some team building things like that in effort to (re)build some relationships, and mainly, just not come off so hard. September 12, 201313 yr Tom Coughlin. I don't think he is the best but far from the worst. He's had a lot of success.
