Yes. It generates a lot of lively discussion. It will get better as the year moves along and more data is available.

Well that would explain alot then, I mean Mayfield at #19 is crazy low. He should have just noticed the name alone and ealized there is no way a Mayfield team would be that low :laugh:

That is a terrible ranking! 2 2A schools should be in the top 25, IMHO. Both, Caldwell County and DeSales, should be ranked, and DeSales should be ranked ahead of John Hardin!

Today's published rankings still has Mayfield losing to Paducah. That is an inexcusable embarrassment to Cantrall IMO.

Obviously the error on the Mayfield/Tilghman game is causing a problem with those two teams.

I'm curious what the formula for this ranking is. Obviously has a lot to do with how strong the computer feels the team's opponents are. BG with a 94, NCC with a 70 although struggling thus far, Caldwell County's low rating (probably again, due to the system's view of their SOS), also Mayfield's seemingly ridiculous rating for a 1A school (again, definitely has to do with the quality teams they have faced thus far). I still can't wrap my mind around though that SK is legitimately top 10 in state this year from the seems of it. Not knocking it at all, they seem to be pretty good and I'm curious how they finish out this year.

Some of our posters need to familiarize themselves with the difference between a "ranking" and a "rating." These are ratings. Computerized calculations of available data (and after three weeks there isn't much). It doesn't necessarily mean one team is better, but it will eventually be fairly accurate by the late season.
