What does comparing teams and games from 2 different years prove?

Not much. But it's better than "SK would beat HHS and CCH"

Does SK have year round weight training for its players? If not, that is a good way to make progress as well. I would think that they already do have year round training. The challenge is how to make it better and more effective. You can never push to hard to achieve your ultimate goal...

Yes they do. Their coaches spent a week or so with U.C.'s football strength coaches a year or two ago and that is the program they instituted.

My son is a freshman for SK this year and started the lifting program after Bball season. It started for the then 8th graders Jan 1st. I had previously taken my boy to ASAP in Covington during the summer but was so impressed with what they were doing elected not to take him to ASAP this year. He added quite a bit of muscle and speed through the summer.

My previous post did make me think though. Neither Highlands, Beechwood or NCC or Cov. Cath have Wrestling Programs do they?

A more interesting discussion (perhaps one for the offseason) was what were the factors that caused the change. I could be wrong' date=' but from an outsiders perspective I think the class with Miles Simpson seemed to really change the tide from all the talent in Kenton County flowing to Dixie and SK became a viable option for football playing students.[/quote']

The change started before Miles. Miles just helped jump start it.

^ On the SK schedule, I have no problem with them keeping New Cath on there. Keeping Holy Cross on the schedule deserves all the ridicule it gets. I like them adding Collins to the schedule. That is a nice add. Bullittt Central, I question that one. How is that game going to help SK win a championship? SK did improve the schedule slightly for this two year contract, but they should have done more.

I would love to see Cov Cath or HHS on their schedule and think it may happen sooner than later. The only issue I have with this year's schedule is Holy Cross. The rest of the non-district schedule is solid except for Bullet but that game if I am correct is the last game of the year and right before playoffs. My opinion is that is a perfect place for a game where you play a team with a little less talent. It gives you a chance to rest nagging injuries and try new wrinkles since there probably won't be many scouting that game.

They do not, Cov Cath is starting a team this year however.

Top NKY programs CCH, HHS, NCC, BWD

SK is sitting there with Ryle, Dixie, Conner, Cooper and CC.

Not a top NKY program at all.

SK beat Beechwood and NCC.

Nothing really...just thought i would throw that out there for Uk fan.

SK beat Beechwood and NCC.

1A 2A come on maaaaan!

So, because SK has not won multiple state titles they are not building a top program? Yeah, that makes sense!

Just look at how far they have came in the last 10 years. It really is remarkable, if some of you would take your contempt for one poster on here away and look at what a turnaround has occurred there.

I agree.

SK beat Beechwood and NCC.

And your program is still light years behind both.

And your program is still light years behind both.

Light years? Come on...

And your program is still light years behind both.

Go to Hebron Friday night and watch SK against Conner and learn something!

I believe so; Simon Kenton is not anything near the program that it once was. The program has drastically improved and the feeder program has a huge part to do with it.
