I use Roku and haven't had any problems with it yet.

I have apple And like it a lot. The only issue is, if you have several iPhone users over for some coldies and music you might not get to hear to many songs all the way through. It seems like everybody wants their turn and they are not into waiting for it.

I have a Roku...big fan. It was free so I didn't shop around although the gBox sounds like something I would have liked to buy.

Roku is what I have. HBOGO is nice to have.

I use it mainly for Netflix, Hulu, and HBO GO. Crackle, Pandora, and Amazon Instant are also pretty popular.

I have an Apple TV, use it for Netflix (faster than my ps3), Hbo Go, watch ESPN, and AirPlay mirroring from both my ipad and MacBook for watching Hudl. My nephews use it AirPlay mirroring when they play race games on the ipad or iPhone.

I am pumped that with the Time Warner change-over from Insight that I got the Watch ESPN app, I plan to use it on Saturday nights for those out of market prime time college football games.

Picked up the Roku 3 today . Love it. So easy to use with great speed.

I have Amazon Fire TV and I love it. I have an Amazon Prime account to go along with Netflix. The voice search is nice as well.

I currently use a Google Chromecast and an Amazon Fire TV. I have used a Roku HD in the past but have never used an Apple TV. All of them are handy devices but if you are an Amazon Prime member, as I am, then if you can only buy one device, then it should be the Fire TV, IMO. It has a fast quad core processor and is much faster than the other devices and nothing else will come close to playing Amazon HD content as well.

 

For a $30 device, I love my Chromecast. I use it mostly to stream Youtube tutorials on the TV in my bedroom, but it also does a fine job with Netflix, HuluPlus, etc. It does not play Amazon videos and other Silverlight content but it does allow you to stream almost any content from a Chrome tab to your TV.

I have a Apple TV and a Roku 3. Apple TV has limited channels and no access to Amazon. I prefer the Roku.

I was over at a friend's house who has one. He uses one called a gBox by a "boutique" manufacturer - it's Android based and runs on an operating system called XBMC. He has an external hard drive hooked into it with all of his digital music and digital movies as well. Seems pretty cool.

 

I run my TV through a pretty nice digital surround receiver, so the idea of piping your digital music directly through there is pretty sweet. Ends up working kinda like a TouchTunes jukebox. I've also got a Smart TV and a BluRay with streaming capability, so I'm not sure if I'm just going to be adding a lot of redundant media capabilities or not...

 

XBMC is very nice. You can find anything and everything on it and its free. Those android boxes that run them are hit and miss though, but I believe they have gotten better in recent releases. I had a Pivos Xios ds that was decent, but was sluggish and would freeze up from time to time. I eventually decided to buy an Intel NUC solely to run xbmc. Couldnt be happier with it.

Yes, I've used several different things and Roku 3 is the best I've come across for what I use it for.

I bought my daughter a Roku for her apartment at college. She loves it. If I could for sure have access to all the sports I watch, I'd probably cut my satellite. Even so, I'm strongly considering it....the $130/month I pay could be much better spent elsewhere.
