Trinity may well not be ranked at the end of the season, however, if any other team in Ky played there schedule, they'd be lucky to win 3-4 games and that includes BGreen, Highlands and St X, so, regardless what the rankings may say at the end of the year, IMO, Trinity is still the best team in the state and it's not close..

I believe St X and HHS's upcoming senior classes played each other head to head as frosh. I remember counting the number of players on the St X frosh team as they entered the stadium at HHS. Number of St X frosh exceeded 100 if I remember correctly. Anybody remember what the outcome of that game was?

Highlands won, but as I recall, it was quite a game. Preseason top 5; Highlands, X, Trinity, Lex Cath, Bowling Green.

They beat St. Xavier last year and you have St. Xavier ranked ahead of both LexCath and Bowling Green, since we are talking about last year's games. Also, I think Bowling Green has a great deal more players back then LexCath.

If we had a 4 team playoff, we'd end all speculation. The downside, however, is it would put Guru out of business cuz we'd lose half of the threads on here bickering back and forth about who's the best.

Bowling Green has won 30 games and 2 state championships in a row and have 17 returning starters. You have a keen eye for high school football.

The good thing about Bowling Green and LexCath is that we find out who is better week 1! Last year I really do feel the Knights beat themselves.

I'll simply put it this way. Until you knock them off they (BG) deserve to be up there, I would actually put them #2 last year right behind Trinity.

You can talk about all the close games etc. you want to, but the bottomline is BG still won those games and are 30-0 in their last 30 games.

Highlands SOS did include wins against #5,#7 and #10 twice and a game against Elder.

 

I know it doesn't count but the scrimmage is played like a game and now add them to the list and the SOS separates themselves from everyone else except T. Remove a District game from Highlands schedule last yr and add in T and there you have it.

 

FWIW, St X played a brutal schedule last yr imo, it will only make you better in the long run:thumb:
