When was the last time varsity CCH beat Highlands and what is the record of this rivalry in the last 20 years?

Thank goodness. I was getting to question this "rivalry" thingy. LOL! NOT!

 

It doesn't matter if Highlands wins every year at every level or basically close to that(seems like it anyway), it's always good when my beloved Bluebirds beat the Blueboys from PH. And the rivalry lives on!

I really have no allegiance to either and usually am quite happy when either loses which isn't often. I am about as unbiased as you can be in this. There are two programs that stand out in this state a notch or two or three above the others and one is HHS and the other isn't CCH, of course it's Trinity. Not saying at the varsity level CCH won't beat HHS but I think it is very unlikely. Lots of really good programs that are very very competitive every year, but two elite programs are in a league of their own.

To elaborate on TOG's baseball response above since Coach Mueller started coaching Highlands in 1994, Highlands is 24-6 against CCH. CCH won twice his first season (1994), twice in 2006, a playoff game in 2001 and the mudbowl in 1997. In this series Highlands is 9-0 over the last 6 seasons, 14-2 over the last 11 seasons, 20-3 over the last 15 seasons and 24-4 over the last 18 seasons. Highlands has beaten CCH in their regular season games 17 of the last 18 seasons (every year except 2006 when a TD pass on the last play of the game interrupted the streak) and it appears that Highlands has won 9 straight (all of the) regular season games that have been played at CCH (where they play this coming season) during that time. However, to put a positive spin on it for CCH, during that 19 year time period the only other team with more than two wins against Highlands is Cincinnati Elder, so CCH has beaten HHS 3 times more than any other team during that era (albeit in many more attempts than any other team during that time period).

I believe so but I am not 100% sure. It seems like it has been dominated by BG for a while.

In the past 20 seasons BG leads the series 19-6. Two of those WC wins were in 1993 so they barely qualify for the 20 year timeframe. Purples have won 19 of 23 from WC, the last 4, an have eliminated WC in their last 4 playoff meetings. And believe it or not, that basically qualifies WC as the most successful program against BG in the area.

 

WC had gone a more respectable 5-7 against BG in the 12 meetings prior to 1993.
