Louisville Fans the Best In College Basketball?

"To accomplish our analysis, we use a statistical model that predicts team revenues as a function of the team’s performance, as measured by winning rates and post season success. The key insight is that when a team achieves revenues that greatly exceed what would be expected based on team performance, it is an indication of significant brand equity. The analysis therefore avoids bandwagon effects and gets at the core loyal fan bases."

I understand what the study is trying to do, and it makes for good conversation, but fandom is not something that, IMO, can be quantiatively measured. It's way to subjective IMO.

I agree. But I do feel that UL fans are as good any any others and at the top of the discussion board :thumb:

If you are only using revenue produced and comparing that to how well the team performed, it can be measured. Whether or not that's right or wrong isn't the question there. JMO, of course.

I thought this was a pretty good summary of what this study means:

"What’s important to note here is that this isn’t a study that is supposed to determine whose fans are the most passionate. It’s sole purpose is to figure out which fan base is still spending money when their team is bad."

Study says Louisville has college basketball?s best fanbase; Kentucky 7th | CollegeBasketballTalk

You put in an arena that's robbing the city but lining the pockets of Louisville athletics also helps :thumb:

:lol2: The point is Louisville fans spend more money when their team is bad/worse. You can determine on your own what that says about each fan base.

That they really like L1C4 shirts.

Good enough to block pro teams to the city.

Meaning Louisville or UK?

That they really like L1C4 shirts.

Please tell me what that even means?

Louisville 1st Cards forever.

Meaning Louisville or UK?

Lexington didn't build a pro arena.

Louisville 1st Cards forever.

That sounds like a high school love note....
