I could not care less about who ND plays or doesn't play. Would ND and UM be a good game? Maybe, but until last season both have been mediocre for most of the last decade. This is more about Brady Hoke wanting to get some boosters fired up, what coach doesn't say stuff like this to their boosters. Besides with Duke, Wake Forrest, North Carolina and other ACC powers on their schedule ND has to cut back somewhere.

Maybe because out of MSU, Purdue and Michigan they have played Michigan the least.

 

Played MSU 75 times, Purdue 84 times and Michigan 39 times. They're just honoring who they have more history with.

 

 

If I was an ND fan I would prefer that they honor who they have more history with as well than continue to play Michigan. Makes sense.:thumb:

Michigan hasn't even sniffed a Big Ten title since 2004. You would think that would be paramount over any OOC game. If I were a Michigan fan, it would be for me.

Big 10 is going to 9 game conference schedule so it would become even more of a schedule hassle although Hoke will not admit that. ND will not drop USC and has to play Navy every year (if you don't know why then learn some history). ND vs Purdue is huge in the state of Indiana and ND vs Stanford and ND vs Michigan St is more appealing than ND vs Michigan. Hoke might have just sealed the deal of Michigan not being scheduled ever again by ND which is a shame because when he is gone after 5 years of being an also-ran the next coach will have to pay for it.

Of losing. Why not keep them and dump Purdue then? NOBODY cares about Purdue/ND on Saturday night. People do care about Michigan/ND on Saturday night.

The real reason ND dropped Michigan is because Michigan tried to force ND's hand into the Big 10 . It didn't work and Michigan got burnt . End of story.

Great insight on that one especially considering last year before the season they had the hardest ranked strength of schedule. Clearly they know they are overrated and are trying to water down their schedule and that is a direct result of their season last year.

Not that I'm a fan of Brady Hoke, but I have to ask: Is donning a headset the difference between "good coach" and "bad coach?" Pretty sure he's not the first to do that.

Both of these programs are clows any more. ND is always over rated, and I get sick of hearing about them. Last year they had a nice team, but still overrated. As for Michigan, Hoke needs to stick to standing on the sidelines with no headset. Michigan is not on the way up folks.

I am not convinced either that Michigan is turning in to any type of a power in college football with Hoke at the helm. He had a nice first season with an experienced team but I never felt like they were all that great. Before ND got run over by Bama, they did it much worse to UM at the start of the year.

I am a Buckeye fan, but I think alot of the big ten needs to take their lead and get some young coaches in there to stir up some stuff, Michigan had the guy to do it, Rodriguez but the old talking heads wouldnt make it work or support him, now they got someone who thinks he so established he just stands on the sideline with no head set and claps............ Only a few can do that.... Meyer came to OSU and changed the norm, made waves.

 

I hope Michigan can get on the upswing, I want the big ten to improve accross the board.

Now the Irish goes from playing two or three decent games a season to one or two decent games. The rest of their schedule is usually very mediocre. USC, Mich, Mich St. and sometimes one other school is usually the only tough games on the schedule. Now your looking at a schedule where USC and Sparty are really your only tough games, don't think some of these teams could make it in the SEC (where you can't dodge competition)
