May 14, 201313 yr Michigan Coach called out Notre Dame for pulling out of the annual contest. Notre Dame will still play Michigan St. and Purdue, but the move to the ACC has ended the game with Michigan. I can understand them still playing Purdue, but why keep Michigan St. on the schedule and get rid of the Michigan game?
May 14, 201313 yr I hate it but something has to give with the conference reshuffling. Same reason we no longer have Texas/Texas A&M, Missouri/Kansas, etc. Notre Dame now has 5 games that must go to the ACC where they didn't previously have that. They are not dropping USC, Navy, and Stanford in that order. I think you will see Notre Dame distancing themselves from the Big Ten all together.
May 14, 201313 yr Scared. Of what? They have been on the receiving end of butt kickings from UM for years and the opposite as well when things were much worse for Notre Dame and are at this point at a two decade high.
May 14, 201313 yr ND just went to NC game and have a great recruiting class coming in. They are not scared. ND isnt scared of anyone. Michingan is irrelavent anyway, who are they to say someone is scared.
May 14, 201313 yr Of what? They have been on the receiving end of butt kickings from UM for years and the opposite as well when things were much worse for Notre Dame and are at this point at a two decade high. Of losing. Why not keep them and dump Purdue then? NOBODY cares about Purdue/ND on Saturday night. People do care about Michigan/ND on Saturday night.

May 14, 201313 yr Then keep the rivalry up. They're scared. hahaha, they aint scared. Every game ND has is a rivalry.

Maybe because out of MSU, Purdue and Michigan they have played Michigan the least. Played MSU 75 times, Purdue 84 times and Michigan 39 times. They're just honoring who they have more history with.
May 14, 201313 yr They open at home with Temple next season. You gotta throw out the win-loss records in this one!

They're just honoring who they have more history with. They went through a long stretch without playing the Wolverines, mid 1900s. 40 years or so I believe. Then they had a 3-4 year stretch when they didn't play at the turn of the century.

Then they had a 3-4 year stretch when they didn't play at the turn of the century. Exactly. ND isn't "scared". Hoke knew his audience and was playing to it. Now if this was Alabama I would believe it. Michigan? No way.
May 14, 201313 yr I could not care less about who ND plays or doesn't play. Would ND and UM be a good game? Maybe, but until last season both have been mediocre for most of the last decade. This is more about Brady Hoke wanting to get some boosters fired up, what coach doesn't say stuff like this to their boosters. Besides with Duke, Wake Forrest, North Carolina and other ACC powers on their schedule ND has to cut back somewhere.
