May 17, 201313 yr It just keeps getting worse.... IRS Official in Charge During Tea Party Targeting Now Runs Health Care Office - ABC News The Internal Revenue Service official in charge of the tax-exempt organizations at the time when the unit targeted tea party groups now runs the IRS office responsible for the health care legislation. Sarah Hall Ingram served as commissioner of the office responsible for tax-exempt organizations between 2009 and 2012. But Ingram has since left that part of the IRS and is now the director of the IRS’ Affordable Care Act office, the IRS confirmed to ABC News today. Reward for a job well done?
May 17, 201313 yr Smoke = fire. The smoke is getting thicker.... Report: IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthood | WashingtonExaminer.com “In one case, the IRS withheld approval of an application for tax exempt status for Coalition for Life of Iowa. In a phone call to Coalition for Life of Iowa leaders on June 6, 2009, the IRS agent ‘Ms. Richards’ told the group to send a letter to the IRS with the entire board’s signatures stating that, under perjury of the law, they do not picket/protest or organize groups to picket or protest outside of Planned Parenthood,” the Thomas More Society announced today. “Once the IRS received this letter, their application would be approved.” How does a 3rd party name come up in an approval or deniable from the a government entity that should never, ever refer to a 3rd party that is not involved with the matter at hand. People who want to claim it's relegated to "low level" staff at the IRS do not understand the culture of the IRS. Very very little is done without approval from higher up. People do not go out on a limb. Period. They will only do something that either has already been approved or they feel comfortable that it will be looked on with approval. Anything else is rare.
May 17, 201313 yr What are people upset about . Because The IRS was doing its job ?I suppose you would have The IRS give a tax exempt status to every group that comes along claiming that they deserve it. To me that would be the height of stupidity . It seems to me that the guidelines established have to be followed . Every Tea Party group that I have had interaction was highly politicized so just because they have Tea party in their name are they to be trusted blindly . There are Conservative crooks as well as Liberal ones .
May 17, 201313 yr Maybe it is like the Holocaust. Hitler never really signed a order to kill the Jews. The IRS and Obama's crew just knew that is what the wanted done and some did it out of spite because it wasnt their political party or agenda, plus they had the power to do it.

May 17, 201313 yr I have an Idea implement either Flat Tax or Fair Tax and virtually eliminate the IRS all together. Current IRS Budget is over $12 Billion. Plus the complicated tax code is a jobs program in and of itself. Nearly $30 billion is spent on tax software, tax preparer services, tax attorneys and CPA's on Tax Preparation each year.
May 17, 201313 yr Two points: 1. You would not be able to virtually eliminate the IRS altogether. Businesses would still have to file some kind of paperwork (return or otherwise) to show taxes were paid and to collect the money. 2. One of our Service Center Directors said it best last week." When the IRS does its job or does something good or outstanding you never hear about. When something bad happens, all hell breaks loose." May 18, 201313 yr Yes. This is just like the Holocaust. No it isn't, but the circumstances of how the Process happened is.
May 18, 201313 yr The trick is to get ALL businesses to pay their fair share. There's the F word again.
May 18, 201313 yr Where is Geithner's name in all this? IRS is under Treasury. Treasury is run by Timothy Geithner. Is mentioning his name verboten?
May 18, 201313 yr There's the F word again. You're right. Change 'fair share' to 'something' in that post.
