Can black people change their skin color? I'm not saying all overweight people can change their weight. Some people have thyroid issues, and different genetic issues that prevent them from being skinny. Black people can't be white people unless their Michael Jackson or Sammy Sosa. Apples and oranges...If you don't want to wear Abercrombia and Fitch, this guy is clearly saying he couldn't care less. If you want to hold a grudge, that's your own problem. No one is forcing you to buy their clothing and no one cares if you never will. I won't buy it either because I don't like it. Not because they don't like fat people wearing their clothes.

Black is not the issue, it is the fact that what he is saying is still prejudiced to a certain demographic. IF he said the same about Blacks or the Handicapped or ANY other demographic group he would be catching enough flack that the Board would probably remove him from his position, but since he is just talking about "Fat" people it isn't that big of a deal.

I guess this is what the Attractive All-American Kid looks like when they grow old...Question:Is this person allowed to wear AF, he surely doesn't represent their brand image.

I understand the business model I just dont understand why idiots pay that much for brand name clothes.

If he said BLACK instead of FAT would everyone be as forgiving?

 

As a former fatty I was one of the people that shared that link on my Facebook page. I don't own a single piece of A&F clothing and I never will.

 

Not a good analogy. Race and weight are vastly different things. I have no problem with him limiting the sizes of his clothing. I do think it is a mistake saying he wants only the "in crowd" wearing his clothes.

 

There are plenty of young women with cute figures who are not considered "popular" in the high school world. From the looks of my Facebook page, he made a lot of enemies there!

 

I am going to guess by his over altered appearance, he never was the person he is trying to target with his clothes.

A&F isn't for everyone, and they don't want it to be. They like most clothing companies, want to convey a certain image, that the cool, popular people that everyone wants to be, are wearing their clothes. Whether it's right or wrong, overweight people are not seen as the cool popular people that others want to be. A larger person wearing their clothes, hurts brand imaging.

 

I assume everyone who has a disdain for A&F because of this also feels the same way about the stores that only cater to "plus sizes" or "Big & Tall" stores? They're completing ignoring a large segment of consumers as well.

As bad as it sucks, A&F sells to a small crowd. It is one that I am glad that I never was a part of, nor ever will be. I'm not Quasimoto, but I'm not into that style of clothes either. I don't want to buy overpriced jeans in the hopes that I'll look like an emaciated 18 year-old metro-sexual. I have too much self pride. That being said, there are some fat people who have a horrible sense of self perception. Not all clothes are made to be equal. Some looks you just can't pull off. Skinny jeans, and much of the other hipster look is one of them. It is ok to not be able to pull it off. Just don't whine about it.

Should we protest the fat people stores because there is no XS sizes ? people who search high and low to be offended are beginning to be my biggest pet peeve . We have became a nation of whiners .

I use to buy some clothes there years ago (like 12-15 years ago). They use to have really nice and well made stuff. It was a little on the pricey end but not bad. Their quality went down hill and the price went up. That was enough for me to bail. Plus I just didn't like the look of their clothes any more.

I have a philosophy. The second that it takes me longer to get ready than it does my wife (date, girlfriend), then I need to reassess who I am as a Man. The second that I spend 65% of what my wife does on skin creams and the like, I just need to get it over with and tell her that I'm no longer interested in women.

Couple of thoughts:

 

1) The guy is honest, but a tool nonetheless.

2) My recently acquired eliptical machine has a weight capacity on it, but I have never heard about the first complaint of why the manufacturer didn't build it to withstand higher weight people. :idunno:

Nothing is better than POLO. Word.

My clothing preference is Carhartt.
