Kentucky Recruiting 2015

Very well could be a terrible student. It doesn't matter. A degree from Duke, regardless of major, is going to be worth more than one from Kentucky.

Luke is Honor student. Academics is very important to him.

I think Jon Hood could have been a good player. Once he tore his ACL, his dreams at playing at a high level was over IMO. But he had SEC level offers I think. I think UK was the only "elite" school that offered.

I think Hood is a little out of place on this list. Played at Miss St.

1 year at Duke and gone.

3 years in college, and he was at Duke for 2 of them...

If it makes everyone feel better replace him with someone I left off the list like: Maggette or Rivers.

[h=3]Scout’s Notes:[/h] Brown is an athletic wing that excels in the open floor. He plays above the rim and is a highlight reel waiting to happen. He does a great job of attacking the rim. Also a very impressive defender with his length.

Will be hard to get him away from AZ or UNLV.

Get him on a visit and you have a chance. Think UNLV may get him; that mainly depends on how they do this year though.

Where do the Cats stand with the top recruits in this class?

Where do the Cats stand with the top recruits in this class?

SG - Malik Newman - Great position, and would compliment Charles Matthews/returnees very well.

PF - Ivan Rabb - An outside chance; more than likely goes to Arizona.

C - Stephen Zimmerman - a pretty decent chance. His recruitment still has a ways to go, I'd say it'll come down to UNLV, Arizona and UK. I believe he chooses UNLV ultimately.

C - Diamond Stone - has stated he wants to be a package with Malik Newman. UK hasn't actively recruited Stone much to this point, but it may pick up at any given time.

PF - Cheick Diallo - You'll see his name quite a bit right now. With the addition of Assistant Coach Barry "Slice" Rohrssen, UK has started to contact Diallo much more frequently. He may become a serious target for UK.

PF/C - Skal Labissiere - I believe Skal is basically down to UK and Memphis. He'll ultimately choose Memphis.

PF - Carlton Bragg - By far, the recruit UK has the best chance with. I really think Bragg chooses UK.

SF - Jaylen Brown - UK has recently contacted him since Antigua left and Rohrssen came on board. One of two SF's that UK will actively seek. Recently confirmed he does have a UK offer.

SF - Brandon Ingram - The other SF UK has recently showed interest in. The recruitment with him is still maturing; we'll see what happens.

SF - Derrick Jones - An older name from this class that has somewhat cooled on UK. He was supposed to visit a while back but had a scheduling conflict. Don't think he'll end up as a Wildcat.

SF - Danjel Purifoy - A really intriguing prospect. Most people don't know much about him, but he favors UK by all reports/accounts. It'll be interesting how UK handles Purifoy just being cut from his high school team for "not doing the things he needed to do to stay in the program" aka, didn't show up to quite a few spring practices.

Others to watch, but are pretty unlikely right now:

SG - P.J. Dozier

PF/C - Thomas Bryant

SG - Eric Davis

SF - Montaque Gill-Ceasar (UK wanted him in 2014; not 2015. I think UK will ultimately end his recruitment and he goes to Michigan St.)

There's a round-up on UK's top recruits. Hope that helped you out.

With all of that said, I think UK's class might end up consisting of Newman, Matthews, Bragg, Diallo/Zimmerman (UK's chances with Diallo would probably be better), and Jaylen Brown. You can add Purifoy in there, IF UK continues to recruit him.

Saw Purifoy three times last week. Don't think he is good enough to play at UK...

I've heard some comparisons of him to Poythress. Who does his game most remind you of? And do you think UK will even continue to recruit him now? Not exactly good news when your high school coach cuts you for lack of dedication and commitment.
