As a student athlete Polsons career has been one of the best ever at UK. Homegrown, fan favorite from in state. Works his tail off to get playing time and actually contributes some as a sophomore and junior, while being part of a national championship team his soph year and graduation a year early the following year. Pretty impressive.

Great to hear. IMO athletes should be able to graduate in 3 to 3.5 years. They take classes year-round. 3 summers can lead to 27 hours ie close to a full academic year.

One reason to take summer classes is that you don't have to take as many hours during the season.

I always wondered how so many athletes were able to graduate early. This makes perfect sense.

And, lets face it...those of us who took any amount of summer school during our college years know just how much easier it is than during the year.

I loved summer school. It's even better when you get paid to take it...

Clyde, correct me if I'm wrong here, but I believe they can earn up to 12 hours over the summer. 6 in each month...or maybe it is just 9? I always took 6, but took 9 one summer.

This is impressive. Not only does UK have basketball players that leave for the pros early now one is graduating early.

These 3 graduating should do wonders for the team reputation. All 3 are Kentucky kids too. That's awesome.

Are Hood and Polson expected to remain at UK on the basketball team in 2013/14, since they have remaining eligibility? I didn't know if their upcoming graduation would lead to them transferring to another school and being able to play right away, staying at UK as players coming off the bench, or merely graduating from college and leaving the college game behind altogether.

I'll be shocked if Polson goes anywhere. He didn't come with intentions of playing right away. He came to be a part of UK Wildcat tradition.
