Did I just hear correctly on the police scanner that they just had phone contact with the subject? Anyone else listening to the scanner?
Yes. But, a city of 4.5 million, there is more than one thing they are talking about.

I just sat back down at the computer and heard the same.

I turned it off. Had to get some work done at some point today lol. But if this is true I would think it quite a major thing?

Boston Bomb Victim in Photo Helped Identify Suspects - Bloomberg

Just before 3 p.m. on April 15, Bauman was waiting among the crowd for his girlfriend to cross the finish line at the Boston Marathon. A man wearing a cap, sunglasses and a black jacket over a hooded sweatshirt looked at Jeff, 27, and dropped a bag at his feet, his brother, Chris Bauman, said in an interview.

Two and a half minutes later, the bag exploded, tearing Jeff’s legs apart. A picture of him in a wheelchair, bloodied and ashen, was broadcast around the world as he was rushed to Boston Medical Center. He lost both legs below the knee.

“He woke up under so much drugs, asked for a paper and pen and wrote, ‘bag, saw the guy, looked right at me,’ ” Chris Bauman said yesterday in an interview.

In no way shape or form am I questioning the victim but if someone dropped a bag of near me and left I'd probably question it, open it, or report it.

Found this photo on twitter. Not something you see everyday in the US.

What are the conspiracy theories on this? Because I am all in on having a hard time believing this 19 year old kid bombed the marathon, stayed in town (even hanging around college for the week), had his picture smeared all over the news causing him to rob a convenient store, then car jacking a guy all while telling him they were the bombers, robbing him, leaving him alone, then battling an entire cop force plus feds looking specifically for him, and still getting away and hiding for 15 hours.

I think in that particular setting most folks wouldn't even think about it. Basically everyone there had a bag.

19-year old kid acting alone...doubtful. 19-year old kid with a large pod of terrorists helping him....doable.

You really probably wouldn't at a marathon. If it was a duffel bag, which is what I have heard, there were probably hundreds if not thousands of them at the finish. These people that just ran didn't carry their belongings with them. In many cases they have people holding their bag for them at the finish. He probably just thought he was doing this and set the bag down for a moment.

Was just talking to a couple buddies about that. The only way I would question it is if they walked away immediately. And we don't know if that's what happened yet.
