You're a Covcath fan...should VonHandorf be able to transfer from Villa and be eligible right away? Don't tell me his move isnt sports related.

I assume him playing varsity as an 8th grader, he is technically a middle school kid and that is why it doesn't affect eligibility?

A kid transfers and you have grown adults bashing him. Unless you know the reason and hear it from him or his mother, I wouldn't jump to conclusions.

 

Cmon Walter. Did you not just post something about the Moss kid about his transfer, and the information came from an 8th grade AAU teammate of Moss? You're a great person and Northern Kentucky fan, but when it comes to Holmes you tend to lose your reporting credibility because of your loyalty to that program. The reason Kel is transferring is no mystery.

Guessing that Andre will not be the new coach at HC....

 

Anyone curious that one McClendon went from Holmes to HC while another McClendon is going the opposite direction?

I know the reason why Moss transferred. Talk to his best friend's dad on a regular basis...And honestly they should've been ruled eligible if what happened really happened.

 

I have an idea of why Markel is going back to Holmes and while SOME of it may be for athletic reasons, there are other factors as well that I won't get in to because It's none of my business or anyone else's.

 

Let's be honest...which kids don't transfer with athletics playing some role? It's the nature of the beast. Some of the same things are being said about the Moeves boys in the other thread.

 

Am I pro Holmes at times? Yea. But check my posts in that thread and you'll see I'm pretty fair with my judgement. And If you knew what I did on the side to help out kids NOT AT HOLMES, you'd realize I'm far less biased than you realize. LB13 can vouch for that.

Christian going to Holmes had more to do with Henley leaving than anything else. He wanted to be at Holmes, mom didn't want him to be...from what I've been told. If I'm wrong someone feel free to correct.

The timing of the transfer is always what makes those of us not privy to the specific circumstances become cynical.

 

Holy Cross lost the majority of their productive players - Holmes coming off a 9th region championship and returning on of the most dynamic players seen around these parts in many years. Suddenly Markel's situation is such that he needs to transfer to Holmes.

 

If this doesn't raise red flags to the KHSAA there is NOTHING that will.

 

 

The schools and parents that should demand an explanation if such a transfer is allowed to play are the schools and parents that follow the letter of the KHSAA rule. I am sure there are many, but I can immediately think of the situation of Layne Harret at CovCath. He played varsity golf at Highlands in the fall of 2012 as a freshmen. He was on the JV basketball team until the semester break and transferred to CovCath in January 2012. He was forced to sit out until Jan 2013 to compete for the Colonels. The parents/son were unhappy with the Highlands bball situation and left for greener pastures. They could have used one of many of the excuses being used to gain instant eligibilty, but the school followed the KHSAA transfer rule and he lost valuable time on the court.

 

I also wonder how thrilled are Hearndon, Housley, and the fab freshmen guards that will now see their playing time diminished by the transfer.

Not an issue until McClendon is ruled eligible but Housely will start at the 3 next year...not 2.

 

This freshman class has been together for a while and always been loaded with depth. My guess is they are glad to have their old teammate back.

Correct...he was the stud on the 7th grade team that included Bolden, Potter, and Covington when he was a 6th grader. Didn't that team include Jaylen Avery as well?

If you have a problem with me, that's fine (I could care less) but atleast make sure you have your stuff right before you start bashing me and my credibility...especially coming from someone who has only been on here for a little over a month.
