March 7, 201313 yr There is nothing better than good alcohol(Okay a few things are better). But seriously, I think brewing beer with my buddy really opened my eyes to the the wonderful world of alcohol. I have a legitimate appreciation for a well crafted brew. After the hardcore cleaning, sanitizing, measuring, cooking, calculating, waiting, anticipating, stressing, bottling, and anticipating there is no better tasting concoction than homemade brew that turns out even better than you had hoped. That in turn got me hooked on the big micro brew kick that everyone is on. There are literally thousands upon thousands of beers out there. To say that you(not you as in BigVman) don't like beer is silly. There is a beer out there for everyone, it's just that some haven't found it yet. With bourbon it took a lot longer to come around to. But about two-ish years ago, a dude came over to my house to "pre-game" and brought a bottle of Beam and a two liter of ginger ale. He ended up leaving it at my house, so I claimed house rights over the bottles the next night. I loved the ginger/bourbon combo, and thus my love for bourbon was born. I now prefer my bourbon over ice or neat for the most part. PLUS, I'm a nerd and get a big sense of Kentucky pride drinking bourbon too.

Hate coke and other soft drinks, but give me a beer and pizza and I'm a happy man. Only thing that would make it better is an after-dinner glass or three of bourbon.
March 7, 201313 yr A nice, cold beer is the most refreshing drink I could have. I love coming home after a long day, kickin' back, and enjoying a few brews. Definitely an acquired taste, I'll admit, but it's here to stay now. I also really enjoy the taste of bourbon with a splash of coke.

Why would the fifteen year old even be trying alcohol. And don't tell all fifteen year old kids do, because I know for a fact, that not every fifteen year old does. Plus for me, if I don't like the taste of something the first time, I won't try it again. Having said that, I have never had a drink of alcohol. The thought of alcohol never appealed. I really don't want to know if I like it.

March 7, 201313 yr Most, if not all alcohols are somewhat acquired tastes...but I've got a taste for quite a few of them. When I was younger, I didn't necessarily have a taste for all of them, and I was drinking alcohol more for the ends and not the means, but that has certainly changed as I've gotten older.
March 7, 201313 yr I honestly have always loved the taste of an ice cold beer since my first sip. When I was little, my parents used to watch TV together in the basement after they put my brothers and me to bed for the night. I've struggled getting to sleep since childhood, and I always used to "sneak" down and sit with them for a while. I'd curl up between them on the couch, and my mom would let me have a sip or two from her grenade bottle of Wiedemann. I always liked the taste of beer...and I still do.
March 7, 201313 yr I just can't understand how anyone could possibly enjoy the taste of bourbon or whiskey. It's awful IMO. I have had my fair share, especially in college, but I never enjoyed the taste and couldn't imagine how anyone could. Beer is okay. I don't love it but I can understand how someone else could.
