February 19, 201313 yr I also know that Coach K was furious about Maggette and Avery leaving....in hind sight...I feel he was right...Brand was the only one ready...also, that was the first time any kid had ever left early, let alone a sophomore and a junior. I thought Maggette had finished his freshman year and Avery had finished his Sophomore year.

February 19, 201313 yr You aren't going to find many talented kids that are looking for a place to go and be recruited over every year in the hope that by year 3 or 4 they can provide depth off the bench... It almost has to be a home grown KY kid.

They project well on draft boards because the rules state every team gets 2 picks. :lol: As far as projecting well to actually playing in the NBA, I'm not sure anyone but Nerlens and probably WCS even make it to a 2nd contract. Goodwin and Poythress have a lot of days riding on buses in the D league ahead of them before they are even close. That said, they have to take the money and run IMO. Coming back and being reduced to giving guys a breather doesn't tend to boost your draft stock. If they plan on sticking around through the 14-15 season you might be on to something...

February 19, 201313 yr It would be nice if UK went after Darryl Hicks or Emmanuel Owootoah. Exactly who should they take those guys over? The Harrisons? FWIW, they've been to quite a few of Owootoah's games, probably looking at him as a potential walk-on.
February 19, 201313 yr Well first I did not expect the loss of Noel would make the guard play so bad. One thing is certain and that Noel covered for the guards horrendous defensive short comings. That being said I think this was a perfect storm and every team (including the top teams....ie see Ohio State this weekend) has run into this on the road. Two wins at home this week and Uk fans can move past this game.............
