Why did Cincy X and Cincy Elder drop Trinity?

Featured Replies

This gets confusing with people talking about X and now knowing whether its Cincy X or Lou X. I have to keep reminding myself which site I'm on, Kentuckypreps or Yappi (OH's version).

 not too shabby. 2011 win over Cincy x top 50 in country. 2009 state champs. 2012 lost by 1 pt to T in playoffs, due to questionable play calling. So i say to you not too bad. Not quite up to par with X standards. But stay tuned this year.

Cincy X was ranked in the top 25 at 3-0 after defeating nationally ranked Colerain in 2011. Then Trinity had a close 17-7 fight. That was a great game and kudos to Trinity. They earned their ranking.

:idunno: my post was not regarding the shamrocks.

Highlands wasn't ranked 3rd. And didn't they only win by 5? And to your post blue bomber. Cincy x beat Lou x in 2009 when Lou x was ranked 16 in nation.

Depends on which poll you look at. Highlands finished 3rd in Maxpreps or one of them. Highlands let Cincy X have a give up, meaningless TD at the end. Cincy X got pushed up and down the field all night. Cincy X was only good for about 60 yards of offense on the night. Cincy X is slow. Louisville X on the other hand is historically soft.

I don't believe that they are slow. They are just soooo conservative. Specht has 2 state titles and is a defensive genius. I understand why they don't want to sling it all over, but with that many boys, you figure that you'd have someone who can be more consistent with their arm.

Soft? :idunno:

45-0? Ring any bells?

We went through this on another thread where parents let their kids get on the BGP account and post. Makes for some goo...errrr.... entertaining reading though.

Just sayin!

Highlands wasn't ranked 3rd at the time they beat Cincy X. They did end up being ranked third in the country at year end in the USA Today Super 25.

And while I wouldn't use the words destroyed or abused in describing Highlands victory over Cincy X in 09, the 5 point margin of victory was no where indicative of how much better Highlands was than Cincy X in that game.

I believe that was the year(09) that Cincy X destroyed Lou. X (and Trinity for that matter). Seems like SOME Lou. X fans have a very selective memory when it comes to 09 football.

Cincy X had just graduated all their talent. What do you expect? They still finished the season 9-3. I'd like to see Highlands play the team from 2011. Too bad Highlands wasn't good enough to return the favor and play at X. You say X is slow but they still held Highlands to only 12pts. I'd say the same about Highlands. You post like Highlands destroyed X. It was a 5pt game. Good job on the win. Pitiful dignity.

The score Cincy X - 43, Lou T - 0 at halftime still rings in my ears.

Compared to whom?

St X came in to that game nationally ranked at 4-0 with wins over Colerain, Trinity, St X and I believe an Indiana school. Don't make it out like they were rebuilding. It was a 5 point game but anyone there saw that while Highlands moved the ball all over the field, St X struggled to get any kind of offense going.

They had graduated their miracle class from 2007 and any stars from the 2008 season. The 2009 season only had 2 original members from the state champ team. The offense was quite anemic that year. That offense was not very explosive, like St. X was used to. I'm not intending to discredit a very good Highlands team, but 2008-2009 X team did not have a consistent offense all season. Ask anybody! One game they beat up Trinity by more than 5 touchdowns, the next they can't even score a TD. That's not consistent. St. Ed wasn't even that good that year and they won by 1pt in a 5pt game. It looked like baseball score. They beat a down Trinity team, a Colerain team that didn't even make the playoffs, Lou X and a Cathedral team that started their season 0-3. Not exactly what I call competition before meeting Highlands.

Why can't Highlands play at X? They never cared to get a home-home. Sully said HH refused to play at X the next year.
