I feel pretty safe saying that the students were not chanting USA to celebrate their heritage rather to assert the hispanic students were not really American.

That would have been the smart thing to do. Absolutely it would have. It's exactly what CCH students used to be able to do when the other student body made gay references. It quickly diffuses the issue.

February 14, 201313 yr Nothing irritates me more than cheers based on socio-economics. I've made my distate clear with emails to CCH in past years when the CCH student body crossed the line and it's usually with Holmes. When they cheer "We're going to college" or "show us your babies" or dress as business professionals when playing Holmes the message is clear "We're better people than you." Pure crap IMO. February 15, 201313 yr We were at a game last year and the students started chanting USA and my daughter asked why, because we are all from USA. that chant means something different around here. U suck Behind.

Well, then either they are not patriotic, or lets just make that chant illegal, and since the national anthem may offend some, lets go ahead and outlaw that too. If its wrong in one area, then it's wrong all the time.
February 15, 201313 yr I was at a game this season where the one of the teams best players was a transfer from Canada. The student section of the other team broke out the U-S-A chant in that game. Is this offensive in this situation? The player on the other team was not an American citizen...
