I know we are 5 days away from tip-off, but this is one of the most anticipated games in NKY hoops in some time. The Breds will come into this game with a 12 game winning streak and a 24-2 record. While the Dawgs still have a Tuesday evening tilt at 13-11 Boone Co. and are currently 24-0. Will the Dawgs enter this game with the perfect record intact? There should be a packed house at the Fieldhouse this Friday.

Many interesting match-ups for this game. The Breds have the size advantage in this one, while Holmes gets the edge in speed.

This game will feature the 3 BEST sophomores in the NKY, James Bolden from Holmes and Newport Catholic's Zach Pangallo & Drew McDonald.

How do you see this one playing out?

Game of the year in NKY so far.

Can't wait to see it.

I'm not as hyped about NCC's All A wins (hold on) WHEN it comes to it telling us anything about how they will fare in the 9th.

I AM looking forward to seeing how NCC decides to guard Holmes.

I AM looking forward to seeing how Holmes handled Drew Mc. He and Chames or he and Englemon will be a heckuva battle.

Who does Seibert guard?

Who does Pangallo guard?

Again, can't wait to check it out.

I will be disappointed if it's not a packed house.

Another part of this dynamic... Newport Catholic has almost always played Holmes better than their record, even when it would have appeared Holmes should have won easily.... going back a long way here, but in 1980 NC (no "Central" in the name back then) handed Dicky Beal led Holmes its only northern Kentucky loss, and I believe that also happened recently - somebody help me with the year - either 07 or 08 - Holmes team riding high lost unexpectedly on the hill. Should be a dandy Friday...

Thanks LB. It was 2008 I guess I was thinking of.. Holmes, led by Arrez Henderson, came into NCC with a great record, and would go on to get to state finals against Mason County, but couldn't escape the hill with a win...

The Breds will play better defense and win this one.

I think McDonald will have a big game on Chames WHO likes to leave his feet and is prone to fouling.

NCC will need to put Siebert on Bolden.

Beuter will need to shoot well and Schulte should win the battle with Engleman.

If Palmer and Coston get hot watch out but I just think NCC is playing the best right now. Hard to say that with Holmes being undefeated but either way it will come down to free throws.

Whoever shoots best from the Line will win.

Breds. 45

Bulldogs. 42

Matchups will be interesting.

I can't see Seibert checking Bolden and would think that Pangallo would guard him.

Should be a great game to watch.

I thought before the CovCath @ NewCath game that CovCath would win in a close one, and for many of the same reasons, I expect Holmes to win by 6-9 on Friday night.

I'll be interested to see if the super-talented NewCath bigs can stay out of foul trouble against an athletic Holmes front-court, as well as with the amount of penetration I expect from the Region's best guard (Bolden). NewCath doesn't have a lot of depth, so I look for that to be the difference.

Should be fun, I can't wait!

Holmes 59-53.

I expect Holmes to be a little too much for NCC but should be a game that comes down to the last three minutes.

Easy call for papa to include this one in the weekly NKY contest.
