Oh the HATRED! Don't be haters! Both are very good players and both will play in College! I would take either one of them on my team in a HEARTBEAT! Enjoy watching them play guys and focus on the positive. Maybe we will see them against each other in the Regional Tournament!

Funny you say that since Morgan has verbally committed to Asbury University and is their top recruit. Fact is also that you have to have a good ACT score to play ball in college

 

Sorry, didn't know ACT scores factor in who's the best player. Congrats to Mr. morgan on going to Asbury, who told you he is there top recruit, lol. His mom or dad? I'm sure the coach at Asbury told there other recruits, come here and play ball, want you to be my #2 or #3 recruit.

Yes they still are. However, your not making a very good arguement for why Bolden should win it over Campbell. Your point is proving that Campbell is much more valuable to his team than Bolden is to Holmes. Which is very true Campbell is HC and without him they are very mediocre. Holmes is better player for player outside of Campbell and Bolden. HC has some good role players but IMO not the same effectiveness as Holmes supporting cast. Now if Chames was still at HC this would be a different story.

 

IMO, I think Bolden deserves it more than anyone being a sophomore, posting the stat line he is, and of course being undefeated. However, with that being said lets be fair to HC, their schedule is ten times tougher than Holmes. So that throws a wrinkle in the mix because I can guarantee you Campbell's numbers are about as good as anyone's in the state. Also, Campbell is very efficient!

 

I honestly think these next two weeks and district play will play a pivitol role in the selection because it is so close and with that being said I give the nod to Bolden because I don't see Holmes losing before regional and play. How is a kid with Bolden's age, numbers, impact, and team record not get POY?

I was saying that Bolden draws so much attention, he creates easy looks for his teammates around the rim. There's a reason their shooting % is so high for the year. Bolden's ability to distribute the ball makes things a lot easier for his teammates.

Agree with Clyde on this. When evaluating and voting for POY that stuff needs to be left out. The fact of the matter is that Campbell has represented HC the past two years and has earned/deserves the respect of the coaches in the 9th region. He is a high school kid and a lot of surrounding factors are out of his control. He is a great young man who has earned himself an impressive D1 scholarship.

Disappointing in you Walter is all I can say. I'll leave it at that.

Bingo Walter - you just made my case for me, but let me expound.

 

I think there are only 3 players in the 9th that need to be in the discussion, Hatton, Campbell and Bolden. You can make perfectly legitimate and great arguments on behalf of any of those 3 guys and it would be hard to argue with who came out on top. I'd say 99 out of 100 times this discussion is based completely on what the players in the debate do on one half of the court and that is usually ok, but this time it is different. One of those 3 is just about the 9th region equivalent of Nerlens Noel on the defensive end of the floor - and no I did not say he is or will ever be as good as Nerlens - just that in our little high school world in NKY that is who he is. In fact probably puts up better defensive numbers than Nerlens. No one in the 9th, and certainly neither of the other guys in this discussion, impacts the game on both ends of the floor with rebounds, blocks, shots altered, drives not even attempted as a result of his presence, like Campbell. I absolutely love both Bolden's and Hatton's games, but when you take into account that the game is played on both ends of the court, Campbell is the POY by a comfortable margin in my view.

 

On a side note, really HATE that they've already cancelled the Holy Cross/Dixie game tonight - freaking ridiculous!! This makes two years in a row that these two teams were scheduled to play but will not.

As far as the 8th region goes, if Jay Smith from Anderson Co isn't in the discussion, then the discussion isn't valid. I'm not saying he should or will win it, but there aren't 3 better players in the 8th reqion, and probably no one who means more to their team. He's Mr. Everything for a 15-2 team who has already beat Collins, and by all intents and purposes could very easily and probably should be 17-0. If someone doesn't think he deserves to be in the argument, I'd like to hear why.
