But

Ray Lewis is also a perfect example of how professional athletes are placed on a pedestal and are immune to many things others are not immune from such as the law etc.

 

Ray Lewis plays football, yet too many times they are praised for things beyond the gridiron even though those same things should not be included when talking about how good a PLAYER was.

 

Several children out of wedlock, implications into a double homicide etc. all seem to get swept under the carpet simply because a guy is good at a specific sport.

 

Society is what makes these celebrities, not necessarily the celebrity himself. It's the time we live in. It's the media attention these athletes get which raise them up above everyone else. ESPN for example is guilty of making these athletes better than they are. Could you imagine what would of happened to the likes of Ty Cobb etc. if they played in this media age of instant stardom?

 

Ray Lewis was one of the best LB's, Ray Lewis was never a role model for anyone.

I think it is too hard to take it out of the equation when looking at Ray Lewis. That night will always play a role in defining who Ray Lewis is. He strikes me as the stereotypical prisoner who is on Death Row but found God.

I do consider him a fake, but I think Lewis has fooled himself through his onfield accomplishments into thinking that he is the norm. He no longer has to fake it since it comes natural to him now. Everybody arounds him supports his thinking and his behavior. He has no motivation to do anything different.

Here's a shocker, Stephen A. is claiming it's unfair to bring up the kids and murder charges.
