Did you guys know that Butler just got beat by Doss and they are still ranked 7?

 

Poll was put together before that game. Not saying it would have changed their rank of #7 but that game was not factored in these rankings.

At this point I agree! We will see what we look like at the end of this month after the Toyota Classic and the Joe B Hall prep.

I feel Holmes schedule is pretty weak. I'd say if Holmes played a schedule like SK's they wouldn't be undefeated.

You want the cold hard truth, people in NKY think that basketball in NKY is better than what basketball in NKY is in reality.

Here's a for instance, and you can go check the threads around late January/early February of last season with posters from NKY griping about the lack of respect given Boone County, etc. The play the BGP ranked 16th team in the state tourney and get waxed by nearly 20. Was Boone a top 20 team? Perhaps, but not by much if so. My point is that because a team is undefeated doesn't mean much if the schedule they've played isn't worth a hoot. In my humble opinion, if Holmes or NCC or Cooper played in the 7th, they'd be above .500 but not much more. But keep on griping about the ranking, it's better reading anyway.

Butler and St X are too high. Butler is trending way down.

 

Lafayette and John Hardin are trending up and should move a few nothches.

 

PRP has really underachieved so far. They have a chance to prove themselves in the LIT next week.

Spin, how many of these teams have you actually seen play? Just curious. No have only seen 3, so it is hard for me to evaluate your list.

I've seen 14 out of 20.

I misspoke. 13 out of 20. I haven't seen Fairdale. But watched their starters all summer in AAU.

Holmes has handled itself pretty well against statewide competition over the past decade. I don't think anyone in the 9th Region viewed the '12 Boone County squad in the same light as the Holmes teams that preceded.

No one would argue that. But sure were up in arms that Boone got the shaft in the rankings last year. The Holmes team that won it a few years ago was as good a team that's been in it for awhile IMO.

Holmes just keeps winning and gets no respect. That's ok, being unranked isn't a bad thing. I would think that the best team in the 9th region would at least crack the top 25.
